The above was from early this evening but my phone died before I posted... Playing in crazy 3/5 game at the Commerce with a required $200 buy-in... Not sure the game can be beaten (two dollars dropped preflop and max rake of $6 taken on any flop) but play is piss poor so maybe it can? As expected been swinging around but still on my first shot and up about $110 after about 3 hours of playing...

I'm currently at Rincon (mistakenly posted AK-Chin in Phoenix because I was trying to decide between the two when leaving Vegas but Rincon won out being slightly cheaper price for a room, much more scenic area (with the AK-Chin tribe deciding to locate their casino next door to their well manured farm), a multiplier promo here, and going to San Diego allowed me spend a day at the Commerce)...

Similar to most of my trip gambling has been largely a wash as I broke about even in the crazy 3/5 at the Commerece in LA (with the most eventful hand being losing about an $800 pot with AQ against A10 when I flopped an ace and was confidently ahead almost all the time... I got the money in on the turn and the fish spiked a river 10).

I didn't get much play in here in Rincon... If I got a good multiplier I was prepared to put in enough play to get back my diamond player's card back from Harrah's (one reason why I opted for a room here rather than somewhere cheaper in the city) but, unsurprisingly, my "mystery multiplier" was only 2 times points, which didn't come close to making the machines playable for me. They also moved the poker room here upstairs to the convention center area from the casino floor. While a nice room I'm guessing the move likely killed off the games which I remember being decent when I was here several years ago (my other reason for choosing to stay here overnight)... So I opted to get caught on my sleep rather than play the only game going (a 3/6 limit kill game) after making a small donation on the slots (thanks again for the info Fishhead

)...

I debated going to Ocean's 11 Casino today (as I was told that is where the best poker is in San Diego) but think I'm going to wander around outside here as the weather is beautiful and I'm would likely have to take two expensive cab rides rather than use the free shuttle to get any play in before I leave tonight...

Currently I'm planning on heading back to Oklahoma for a few days to take care of shit and then plan a quick route through the mid-west Harrah's properties that will hopefully finish off the great race promo for me so I can slow down on the speed traveling somewhat...

I just got back to Oklahoma yesterday after a 40+ hour bus ride typical of the "greyhound experience" (a 600 mile seminar in bad parenting (but thanks super-dad for offering to share a couple tokes of your medicine )

, someone vomiting on an already smelly bus a few rows behind me, and my tylenol PM 12 hour power naps being interrupted by soulless, conscience free agents of the state who sustain themselves on the government dole protecting the our country's vulnerable borders in central Arizona hunting down peaceful people by asking silly questions - if you are here working hard and just happen to lack the proper paperwork are you really going to volunteer that you weren't born on the "right side" of an imaginary line? )

Anyhow, the stuff I got to do here is going to take longer than expected (likely looking at needing to get a carburetor rebuilt) so I'm going to rush and try and get the Harrah's Great Race promo done this week and then head back here...

My short-term plan is leave for Shreveport and New Orleans early tomorrow morning and then spend a couple days in Biloxi. After that I'm planning heading to another Harrah's property (Kansas City maybe?) so I can finish up this madness in Council Bluff towards at the end of the week to lock up my $750 in comps (and, hopefully, win a little more on top of that would put me back in the green for a second time this trip...) and catch the Nebraska-Wisconsin game in Lincoln on Saturday night...

I didn't get to enjoy the weather as much as I would have liked but going back to Southern California at some point as soon as possible as the lack of desert heat and great games is going to make it a regular diversion when in Vegas...

Damn, you know how long you going to be there? I'm planning on heading back to Vegas very shortly (late part of next week maybe?) as I still got some stuff to finish up there as well but I guessing you will already have left by then?

My apologies for my piss-poor west coast geography (I should have know I was in Central LA but probably subconsciously overlooked it so the Nicky Santoro pun would still work)...

The LA-San Diego detour was fast and last minute (I was only in LA overnight) as I originally wanted to head to Reno but time constraints wouldn't allow travel there and then to Oklahoma... As mentioned above the juicy poker games and other unfinished business are going to get me to head back to California again shortly and will definitely be sending you a PM on the next pass through there...
