The fans may miss the games, but many charities, businesses, & bars rely on that $$$. i'm up in Ottawa & they just announced 170 layoffs at Scotiabank place where the Senators play. I'm sure that many other layoffs have occurred as a result of these whiners fighting over the last nickel.

Hockey has been a part of my life for over 40 years & I'm disgusted with the greed of everyone involved.

The owners cry poor - yet they continually dump millions into the laps of kids barely old enough to drink.

The Bettman is living the baseball dream of "if you build it, they will come" and pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into markets in the US that would rather watch HS football. MAJOR savings to be found here.

The average player salary for 2011 was $2.45 million - not bad cake for playing a game...

Hockey is the best sport to watch live but does not translate to TV.I love Hockey but the problem is it is not a mainstream sport but i dont care it needs to be a rouge sport how can u not like a sport that lets you fight.Each city has its hardcore fans but nobody else cares.I think u can say you do not like Hockey But it does not suck.A Lock out is just bad.1 you have Pro and Collage Football till Feb,2 The MLB Playoffs are starting then 3 NBA Is starting even i as a huge fan even has trouble watching Hockey in Oct or early November.I will drive over to Peoria and watch a few AHL Games to get my hockey fix a Lockout is just a bad idea the fans get screwed again as usual.

I disagree. I like watching hockey on TV way more than live. I've been right up on the glass at 2 wings games almost at the center. I miss the commentating. Especially the one guy who's a legend. He provides a lot of entertainment. Especially in a close game. Honestly he makes the game 10x better while watching.

NBA I live for. But when I have to sit through George Blaha commentating I want to put a bullet in my head.
