It's that the San Francisco offense is better than the Chicago offense. Said this last night and everyone yelled over the computer calling me an idiot, Smith > Cutler

Thursday is the same as Sunday, these guys get paid enough money to play well on 3 days rest. They get more days off this week than most of do in three weeks. No excuse, San Fran is just the better team in the NFC

I watch Thursday night a lot, and it's not a large enough sample one game a week to say it's different. The same players and coaches would play on Sunday.

sure it is, dont even need a sample t simple logic, less time off, less time to prepare = shitfest 70% of the time....works for me, i luv thur night 1st half unders i guess at some point regression will catch up but i doubt it,,,typical nfl money grab, preach player safety with bs rules then make them play on short weeks all yr, next will be 18 gm season and tues night gms..

I understand less time between games, but the defense would be just as tired as the offense would be. Especially in this pass happy league, the defense should be tired faster, so I think your logic is flawed. I will follow up on first half unders on Thursday night games, but I don't think it gives the defense an advantage at all.

not really sure it a adv D it more just shit offense in most of these things...i agree d shouldnt be any more or less tired, i just know more times than not you get sub-par offensive performances on thur nights for whatever reason..dont even like starting guys on my fantasy teams on thur nights if i can avoid it..

No, it isn't. And Smith is not better than Cutler.

Smith had a better first half against GB than Cutler has tonight, but that statement is miles away from what you're saying. SF came into this season over-valued and have yet to prove themselves definitively after under-performing horribly in several key offensive categories last season. Let's see how the two are looking after 3-4 weeks.

I don't know what season you were watching last year where San Fran underachieved in big offensive series. Do you not remember the game winning drive Smith led against N.O. in the playoffs last year. Just by using Davis he tore apart many secondaries, and Smith is better than Cutler there is no question to that fact. Smith has proven himself in the playoffs, and if it wasn't for a botched fumble on special teams he could easily have a super bowl ring. Cutler will struggle this half just like he did in the first half, Smith didn't struggle in that game at any point. He was able to avoid the blitz and audible into great formations, and really burned the G.B. defense.

do you really think this 1 gm by cutler and the 1 gm last week by smith are a significant sample size while you telling me three havnt been enough thu night gms to draw conclusions? again Smith playoff success? again 1-2 gms but that a big enough sample? sounds fishy to me (str8 homer)... smith is no where near as physically gifted as Cutler period, Smith is under a better coach and running a good system for him but no one who evaluates qbs would agree with you..

You're clearly not looking at the Niners objectively. Look at their season stats from last year. 31st in 3rd down conversion rate, a huge positive TO margin, huge special teams performance, a win total that exceeded their pythagorean expectation by more than 2 wins, and a QB that had the best year of his career by far. Football Outsiders ranked Smith as 14th in DVOA for 2011. ESPN ranked him at 24th in their QBR metric.

Not saying they're not a good team, but the Niners have not been more overvalued in recent years than they are right now.

49ers are better than the Bears. Not necessarily offensively, but as a whole team. The one thing you should take from week 1 is to not overreact to what you just saw. People jumped on the Bears this week because why????? They put 41 on a team that was 2-14 last year?

Good game Pack backers and overall G.B. looked better. However they had a lot of good fortune on their side tonight. 1st 3 pts. Was a gift from inept officials, td on a trick s.p. play, next 3 of a Briggs dropped int. This game could have easily been 3-0 at half and a much different game... shit happens!

It's been 2 games, relax. And if you think SF's offence is better then CHI's you're sadly mistaken. Time will show this. And whats with creating so many threads?
