and they've had decent teams since

The Raiders have not gotten over Russel yet
Look, if Russel was any decent at QB, and still played, they would have beaten the Chargers on Monday night
the Raider defense wasn't the problem, they were doing their jobs

But now, the Raiders are in a terrible cycle of re-tread quarterbacks

Without question, he was the best option at the time on paper
the Raiders had no way of knowing this guy was a cough syrup junky

Reality of this was he phucked over the Raiders by sitting on his fat ass when he got paid, completely unmotivated
He's a dick because of that
He may be the biggest dick in pro football history for that

scouts just phucked up, then the press annihilated him
now he's on suicide watch

As a Raider fan I screamed at the top of my lungs when they made that pick. I knew then he was overrated and also knew he would be a major bust. Wouldn't have mattered if he held out or not, he was gonna suck no matter what. There have been plenty of busts in sports over the years but he sticks out in my mind the most. Anybody who woulda drafted this blubbery whale shoulda been fired. But of course Al Davis wasn't gonna fire himself.

I won't detail Leaf's shortcomings here but he certainly did set the franchise back years. And, he was a rude and uncoachable dick, which gets him points in the lack-of-effort category.

Then, for the last five years, he specialized in burglaries of friend's homes to steal their prescription drugs and possessions. Now, he has finally been sent to prison. Don't think he was on the cough syrup though.
