Draft Advice - Draft is today and need some advice! PLEASE HELP - Thanks!
I'm a rookie at fantasy football and my draft is this evening. I would really appreciate your feedback and advice! Thanks in advance!

    Snake Draft Tonight 9:15EST/6:15PST

I know it depends which order i draw, but generally thought this is how I would go each round depending on who is available...

    Picks 1-5: RB and WR
    Pick 6: QB
    Pick 7: TE
    Picks 8-11: RB and WR
    Pick 12: DEF
    Picks 13-15: ??
    Pick 16: Kicker

Am I way off with this general outline? An hour prior to draft time I will post what order I am going...Thanks in advance for anyone who provides input!

my draft today was a PPR league, it went Foster Rodgers Brees Brady Stafford Rice (QBs threw me off, but I was able to get Romo in the fourth). Some of my friends aren't the brightest though.

FYI, didn't think it would be this way but there seemed to be a decent amount of WRs but few good RBs.

Ronnie Brown may be a good player for a few games with Mathews out, same with Kevin Smith may be had cheap with Best injured.

yeah, you can't script it like that

however, as a very general approach, it looks pretty good on paper

try to grab players that present value when it is your pick

if you wait to get a qb until round 6 you will probably want to pick another one up shortly after that and use a qb by committee approach

As much as you want to script it, you can't. That's why I typically try to run a few mocks prior to my draft to see how different scenarios play out. But it sounds like you have an outline of your draft strategy. RB and WR early, settle for a mid tier QB. A 6th round QB would leave you with Ryan, Rivers, maybe Romo. If you see Peyton on the board in the 5th round, I'd take him.

          Good luck riff.

League settings are important. Is it a QB friendly league or do QB's get 4 pts for a passing TD? I had the 4th pick in one league and figured I would end up with Rodgers (QB friendly scoring), Rodgers went first and I ended up with Ray Rice.

Typically, you're going to see the biggest discrepancy in fantasy talent at the RB position. Last year Megatron was #1 in WR and #2 wasn't close, but that typically doesn't happen. If you have a decent QB (Romo, Ryan, Schaub, Peyton) and Elite RB's with 1 top tier WR, you should be more than fine. People are always hurting at the RB position come playoff time due to injuries.

Also, try not to screw yourself on bye weeks. If you have 3 or more key position players on bye in one week, you can pretty much count that as a loss. I try to chose the best player on the board, but if I am drafting a guy as a backup RB, I try to make sure he doesn't have the same bye week.
