somethings to take away from tonights preseason game...
people need to temper expectations for colts- luck showing true rookie form against a real defense. all last weeks game showed was how terrible rams d is. its not all lucks fault he his rookie te wr reggie wyne is old and collie injury prone . not much to work with

also, steeler backfield is a mess . now jon dwyer in the mix with rainey and redman. they need mendy back asap

Are you suggesting people are all over the Colts to have a big year?

I think the takeaway from this game is that the Colts have a pretty solid offensive squad. Definitely young and inexperienced, for the most part, but with Luck at QB, the Colts have the capacity to score points this year. In particular, I've been impressed with Vick Ballard tonight, but Fleener/Hilton/Brazzil will get their chances.

Now defensively, it's a whole different story. They're going to struggle to stop a lot of teams, so the results may not be there in terms of wins, but the 2012 Colts look a lot like the 2011 Panthers in their makeup.

so many much ignorance in one little post...1st off if you think the Lambs d is or gonna be bad i have to wonder if you are mentally challenged (good possibility that true if you from det), 2. you seriously think you can take any more away from this gm than you could last week against the rams? stop focusing on the score or results as many times teams could give a shit less or have a agenda that has nothing to do with results of gm (didnt watch, dont care what happened honestly, hit 1st qrtr over tho)...3. pretty sure you just simply not to bright, no one htinks colts will be good, luck willl be fine and have some fine gms but it is what it is, not sure what "expectations" you talking bout? but keep assuming you have the season figured out based off bs and let me know how it works out (hate these cats that think they should be a gm)....

Colts winning at the half and that was with Luck making a mistake and giving them 7 and with a WR bobbling a big catch and it got picked off to ruin another nice drive Luck had going

something to take away from tonight is that you don't know dick

goalline stand gives colt backers the cover, in regular season would they have let steelers score there? i say ya.

Regular season, that would have been Mendenhal or Big Ben running the ball in, not their third string players, so that goal line stand was probably the least relevant action tonight.

I don't understand why people say you can't learn anything from pre-season games... We all know the outcome doesn't matter in the games, and the veterans will not be playing much, but there are a lot of question marks surrounding most teams in terms of what they have to work with, and who will win the starting roles in contested positions. Indy is exactly the kind of team that you can learn a lot from in watching them try to put the pieces together.

thats more the point i was making. was more important to see how the guys on the fringe of the roster handled the goalline defense then trying to win the game. your best chance of winning at that point is allowing the back to walk in and having 2 minutes to get a td.

If that was a regular season game, then that slide by Luck was no TD to make it 14-14. Yes that cost me $$$$...

that whole sequence was f'ed up IMO. the ball on 4th down should have been a half yard closer. luck shouldnt have scored the td on 4th down, however the games complexions woulda changed after that so hard to say it cost you the game, there was still another half to play, but yes it was a bad break and shouldnt have been a td.

sorta a questionable play call while we are at it, having luck run it on a play at the goalline hes likely gona get hit on in a preseason game.
