If you thought the Ravens would win, I have no idea why you bet on PITT to win by the Money Line then... Wouldn't that be a bet someone would make who was certain PITT would pull it off, just not by the spread!? I'm baffled... So you're talking about buying insurance against that bet? Why not take the parlay of Balt & Under then, figuring that if Pitt loses, it's because Bal held their offense to a minimum?

Because I felt it was a very good price based on what I saw from the Vegas lines and I planned on hedging it and then placing a bet on the Ravens spread so if:
1) Pittsburgh covers spread = break even
2) Pitt wins but Balt covers = ~4u
3) balt wins = ~2u

That's an interesting way of betting... You'll have to explain it in more detail so I can understand. How many units would you have bet, and on what types of bets to get those results?Comment -
Hypothetical, round numbers to make it easier to explain:
Lets say I put $1500 on Pitt ML -200 to win 750. If I had jumped on the Balt ML when it came out at +250, I could have bet $600 on that to win 1500. As of those two bets it would have been:
1) pit wins = +$150
2) balt wins = break even
But if I place a $150 wager on the spread (say Balt +6.5 -110) then I get:
1) pitt wins by 7+ = break even
2) pitt wins but balt covers = ~$286 ($150 from the Pitt ML-Balt ML and ~$136 from the Balt spread bet)
