FREE MONEY!!! First NFL Coach to be Fired?
I recieved a text alert that Al Davis has informed Lane Kiffen that he will be fired today. There is an open "entertainment" prop on BetOnline for first coach to be fired. You can get Kiffen at +250. Max bet $20, but its still a free $50.

bizarre. How was he +250? I would've jumped on that. There've been reports flying for weeks.

Who did you get this text alert from?

Tough to fire the guy after they outplayed Buffalo for 3 quarters.

I have ESPN Text Alerts and it said "ESPN NFL- Sources: Raiders coach Lane Kiffin has been informed that he will be fired on Monday."

The prop was actually, "Which of these 3 coaches will be first to be fired in the 2008 NFL Season? Romeo Crennel +180 Lane Kiffin +250 Scott Linehan +250"

I still would take Kiffin, even though he wasn't fired today.

Yeah, it's a good thing I put a few bucks on Linehan so that I get my $20 back.

And what do you know, Al Davis is currently having a conference with 3 assistant coaches for a potential successor to Lane Kiffin!

It woulda still been a good bet to bet the max on Kiffin & Linehan. There was no way that Linehan could've made it into December IMHO. Kiffin definitely seemed like the #1 choice but Davis is making this into a circus as usual, so who knows what's going on inside that old man's head. I think Crennel is safe in 2008, it doesn't make any sense to can him unless he completely loses the team or does something stupid, he can't be blamed for this season and it's a huge mistake to fire him in 2008.
