#3it does look fishy but grant's hammy, rodgers on the road, Lions getting there ass kicked by Atlanta, they could come out to prove something. Lions have 2 great WR, Roy and Calvin, Harris could be in for a long day. The Packs D is solid, as long as they dont give up the big plays they should be able to put up enough points to cover.Comment -

#4Detroit's home opener. Green Bay, an out door team, Detroit a crappy team, but better suited for the indoors.
Pack's a good bet, still. DO IT!!Comment -

#6Yeah its all about Grant...
Turner is a very good RB and Detroit's rushing defense looks to be a huge hole. With a less then healthy backfield, Green Bay will not be able to exploit this. Plus we haven't seen Rodgers on the road or Detroit at home.
That said, I still think GB is the play here. It just isn't a total lock or anything.Comment -

#8I did not play this game, but my lean would be the LIONS for several reasons.
The Packers had a short week after playing Monday Night, and this is a classic sandwich situation for them. They were on a mission to prove that they could win without Favre last week and they have a big date with the Cowboys up next. It would be very easy to overlook the Lions here, especially after they were thumped by the lowly Falcons. On the other hand, the Liions should be motivated for their home opener after that lacklutser effort, wanting to show they are better than that.
Finally, what a differrence a week makes, as people were down on the Packers before last wekk while many were picking the Lions as a nice sleeper to win the North. Now, one week later, Green Bay is a road favorite.Comment -

#10Detroit is John Layfield's pick of the week. It is his first bet since winning $858,440.34 on the Giants in the Super Bowl.Comment -

#15I am taking the Lions. I think some of the issues they had last week against the Falcons was bad tackling. This can be corrected quickly. Their passing game looked decent last week. Kitna forced a few passes and made some bad decisions, but I think he will rebound. Plus home opener. I am laying one unit on the Lions.Comment
