    Public is backing Giants
Just from an early perspective on who the public is on...it seems it is the Giants. There maybe late money coming in on the Patriots but keep in mind Gronkowski is now questionable and it may hold late bettors back to drop money on the Pats. This plays into Vegas' hands as they remain loaded on Giants money, the potential losing side!

Here is some history that I observed on various games off the top of my head....

Public was on LSU in the BCS Championship.....lost

Public was on Oregon in last year's BCS Championship....lost

Public jumped on Steelers to beat the Broncos in the wildcard.....lost

Public then jumped back ON the Broncos to cover against the Patriots....lost

Public was on the Patriots in the 2008 Super Bowl......LOST

Public is back on the Giants bandwagon with their surge in the playoffs in 2012 looking for deja Vu aginst the Patriots....???? Draw your own conclusion

I could go on and on but it would take literally a lifetime of public plays that failed to list! Believe I can feel the public sentiment on the Giants this year.

Nothing is foolproof....only a fool would think that!

    Original Post:

Here is how I personally measure how much the public is on a team-- I ask everyone I know at work and various friend and family members who they like. Most have said Giants and they believe the Giants will win, so I conclude that the dog in the Super Bowl is a public play and do you really want to back the public team in the Super Bowl?? I am not saying that the public can't win but I feel safer going against it.

According to two linesmen at sportsbooks I have contact with, both saying the sharps playing there are on the Giants.

However I personally never cared for sharps publics or whatever. I look at the game and that's it, it always worked the best for me. I always giggle at people trying to second guess public this sharps that, movement this and that, fade this person tail that person yada yada.

You've got to question about if some sharps are just an extension of the public. I wouldn't trust anything a sportsbook linesman told me for a minute.

            Well I trust my friends

They also said public are on the Giants and that they have really lopsided action towards the Giants. If this is a good representative of the market as a whole the books will really need Patriots to win...

The Giants are the public darlings in this game...nobody I know likes the Patriots but that is probably because I live in the midwest where everyone hates the east coast big market teams. But there are Giants fans everywhere. Just seems like the Giants are getting a lot of love in this game, and betting action.

Remember, the public was on the Packers spread against the Steelers last year and won.

The line makers make the most money from prop bets. The coin flip and gatorade color bath props are trap bets that the line makers make money off the public.

So do the books get killed again if Giants win/cover? They wouldn't make enough money on props to cover their exposure.

That was almost a 50/50 split. Both teams very public with a lot of backers.

study and make ur own plays, not plays based off who some1 else bets

                        such an overrated tool

Public is an interpretation; Vegasinsider doesn't mean public....it means you want to validate your pick...Donald Trump bet a Skyscraper on the Giants ml vs Sf ......bets like that are going to destroy your interpretation if PUBLIC
