After watching Pitt (who opened at -11) move 3 points right away to -14... I'm curious if this is a trap game and Vegas has is all figured out already...... SF seems like the no brainer...That defense is impressive.

I think the dilemma is the risk that SF puts the brakes on to limit potential injuries. I'm on SF -3.

Don't see Harbaugh putting on the breaks for this game with a pit stop on the line. Maybe slow down next week against Pittsburgh then finish off the division and get healthy during the bye.

-3 seems like the right number to lock in. SF is worth it, they've been solid all year. But road division games always bug me.

That is the defensive MVP of that team and perhaps the league. That completely changes the dynamic of that defense.

How everyone can lay out on the Niners is beyond me.

arizonas defense is actually decent.


and they have 2 good receivers. their main problem (in my opinion) is a lack of run game, and poor quarterback play.


i think kevin kolb is directly responsible for the way the season has turned out. he has been poor all year long. if they had better quarterback play and a better run game and 1 or 2 more playmakers on defense, they'd be a very very good team.


anyhow, the receiver play is getting better week to week and if the qb can put in a decent performance arizona can keep it close

were talking about a team that has yet to give up a rushing td all year.... so your really betting that the AZ defense will be able to air the ball out.

That should prove challenging considering AZ has given up the second most sacs in the NFL all year. Justin Smith should have quite the game.

The only teams that worry me with the Niners are elite passing teams and teams with a great pass rush. See neither of those in the Cardinals.

AZ = home division revenge dog. AZ defense has been playing very well lately. Idiot RB Beanie Wells is healthy and has been running the ball consistently. AZ has good head coach finally recovering from post Super Bowl collapse, loss of Warner and some key players.
AZ on a 5-1 spread run, only loss ATS was @ SF.

That's a misconception that so many people have. The 49ers are trying to secure a 1st round bye with NO right behind them. They have tons of motivation. Also, while the Cards aren't a brand name team, this game is much more important in playoff seeding than is the non-conf Steelers game.

Say what you want but until it comes to the final 1-2 games the players generally do not get FIRED UP about seedings oncve they make the playoffs. Your opinion, OK.
I say, in this spot, after a loss @ Balt they won big and clinch the Division, they are not going to go head first 60 minutes to beat an AZ team that they already beat.
AZ, on the other hand, has adjusted to the fact that they are not going to the playoffs and are playing for jobs, salaries, and the future. Their coach is top notch, buillding another run, wants to see what players are on board for next yr. And the players understand and respect his approach. AZ is motivated.
The AZ ML is a good side bet, too.
AZ + 4 plus a little bit on the ML.
