THURSDAY NIGHT *** CLEVELAND at PITTSBURGH
I have Pittsburgh on the back of my parlay bet where I won the first half with my 2nd half bet on San Diego, but I am also looking to place another large play on Pittsburgh -14, but before I do, I would like to get some quality insight from others on this game, to help me make a more rational decision. Thank you!

I really like Pittsburgh because they are peaking right now, and still have the potential to win there division. There defense is outstanding, Big Ben is playing great, they have great receivers in Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown, they have a super tight end in Heath Miller, and Mendenhall played a great game against Cincinnati. They have had several major players hurt this year, but now they are all back. Lamar Woodley who has missed several games with a hamstring injury came back for the Cinncinnati game, only to tweak the hamstring again. I do however expect him back this week. I really think with the way the Steelers are playing defense, they very well could be the favorite to make it to the Super Bowl out of there conference. Lastly, I really like Head Coach Mike Tomlin.

As I stated, they are peaking since they now have several key players back who have missed quite a few games, and as the stats show, they have turned up the defense to a much higher level. I am however trying to keep an open mind before making anymore future bets on Pittsburgh, which is why I started this thread. I bet nothing but dimes, so I have to be selective in the two or three games I decide to play.

I bet Pitt alot over the years because they always play good d and are consistent but they generally don't do well ATS when they are double digit favs short week I could see them doing what they need to do to get the win and have a "mini bye week" however Cleveland SUX and you would think they would be beat up from Baltimore still- tough call IMO

Why not hedge your bet?! If you can place a 3000 wager on browns you are guaranteed to win 3000 or 3500 if the parlay hits!!

500 sorry not 3000. 500 if browns cover, 3500 if steelers cover! Or at least put 1000, to minimize losses!

I don'[t trust steelers to cover a huge spread against anybody, not even the browns. I'm leaning on Cleveland TT under, no matter what happens you KNOW they suck, add a short week, add away game, add steelers def and it could be a shutout. Think about how many mistakes Cincy made last week that enabled pitt to run up the score, without some luck I don't think they cover 14.

The defense of Pittsburgh will provide turnovers and possible points.

Browns and the over....... Browns don't quit and always play games the best they can they wont just lay down and get walked on against the stillers... these players want these games between the two to get back into the Rivalry it used to be instead of just getting owned everytime..... How do you expect Pitt to beat a team by 14 in a rivalry game? Yea the steelers have owned us, but its 14 points in a primetime night game.

I don't ever bet my crappy Browns but I always love taking DD dogs on primetime

But both indy and chiefs were road games. and they had big road spreads to cover. At home they have only lost to Baltimore and struggled againsted Jacksonville who always plays them tough. other home games have been blowouts. And yes, divisional games are tough, but they blew Cinnci out last game and I think Cinnci is slightly better than Clev.
Steelers are my fav team, but whenever i bet on them/against them, they screw me!

browns are 4-11 last 15 games ATS vs pitt and 2-5 ATS last 7 games @ Pitt.

                                        Losing margins starting in 2010 going back to 2001 @ pitt: -18, -13, -31 , -3, -20, -13, -11, win by 20, -3, -21.

Dont listen to Browns fans that think Cleveland "wants this game". Pitt has more to play for.

Totally agree with you bb_skoots, but 14 points is alot of points to be giving up in a NFL game, and that is what I am having a problem with, when it comes to placing another large wager on them.

The last time Cleveland beat Pittsburgh was December 2009. It was one of the coldest NFL games in history. Wind chill brought it -10 below freezing.

Prior to that game, the last time Cleveland beat Pittsburgh was in 2003.

I have not completely made up my mind, but I'm leaning that the Steelers will cover. Look at what happened to Cincinnati last week and they beat the Browns last month.

The main thing bothering me is Pittsburgh's injury report. 21 players on the list! All of them were limited in practice yesterday including Roethlisberger, Mendenhall, Miller, Dwyer, Cotchery and more.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of - going up big and allowing the backdoor in garbage time. I'd rather wait to see what kind of game its going to be and play something live.

Last time they met on Thursday night Pitt was -10 and lost outright 13-6.........

Thanks for your input baazigar! I hope and feel you are right. I actually am considering taking the first half line, as Pittsburgh seems to score quite well in the first half of games, and in-fact have scored more points in the first half of all there games than they have in the second half with the exception of the Baltimore games, and one other one. This seems like the logical bet to me, as the first half line is 8 at the moment on vegas insider, and the way the defense has been playing it very well could be a first half shutout.

I just don't know if I can trust the Steelers to cover, the offense has struggled in several games this season, so you just don't know what you will get. Browns are pretty bad and Steelers are playing at home so Steelers should dominate....but 14 points is alot.

this is the browns super bowl... first time coach needs a marquee win, fans would love to beat steelers more then anything. Moneyline has a shot (flame me), but browns will cover a 2 td spread imho.

I am a Browns fan, yes ... but a businessman first. The worst thing for this game is if Colt does not play the whole game. The back-up is a better qb, who can move and has a much stronger arm. The Stillers will be squating on the short routes all game, tempting Colt to throw the ball. Sorry to say, with no offense to speak of; a defense that is solid but on the field WAY too much is a bad formula. They can't stop a nose-bleed on the ground and now starting to give up yards through the air. 34 - 13 Final
