    Week 12 picks and thoughts
Only one bet. I've simply not had time to look at this week's games at all...

    Bears @ Raiders
As I write, I can't get my bet placed at Bodog, some kind of internet fuckup. Grr...
Anyway... sometimes it seems too easy. I have the Bears earmarked as over-rated on my Colonel Sanders secret recipe statistical indicator, and they're only getting three points for a non-conference road trip against a decent and highly motivated opponent, without their starting quarterback! Raiders, Raiders, Raiders, Raiders, Raiders....
Mystic Limey forsees" Easy Oakland win
    15 units Raiders -3

    Enjoy your NFL weekend.

I'm pullin for Oakland also, but there are a few problems...

    Jacoby Ford ---out (Foot)
    Denarious Moore ---out (Foot)
T.J. Houshmandzadeh ---out (Sat out of practice)
Darrius Heyward-Bey ---out (Concussion, head, neck)

Raiders are down to a handful of healthy receivers, including Chaz Schilens, Louis Murphy and rookie Eddie McGee, who is on the team's practice squad.

i havnt seen DHB ruled out as of yet, read somewhere he practiced the last 2 days...still get your point just curious if he has been in fact ruled out?

You're right. He did practice; still, the team is worn thin. Chicago is healthy, but how Hanie performs is mystery.

Maybe the under is the right play on this one.

If you guys are basing your picks on whether or not dhb plays, you're out of your mind. Hes garbage. Im taking chicago and tbe points. Especially since detroit got beat. Bears cant afford to lose.

Update: When I finally was able to get the bet placed, this morning, I changed my staking:
10 units Raiders -3, 10 units Raiders ML

By far my biggest bet of the season - fingers crossed!

Surely the Bears could less afford to lose if Detroit had won?

Phew. My biggest bet of the season won. It was a bit hairy at the end, having looked all over when the Bears were down twelve points and had 3rd and 19 under their own goalposts with three minutes to play. I could have done without the ensuing events!

Too kind, BigDan, thanks. I feel a bit lucky. When I make a large bet I place it fully expecting a comfortable win, and this didn't end up that way.
