Steelers sign QB backup Leftwich

The Steelers, in need of a veteran backup quarterback after an injury to Charlie Batch, signed former Jacksonville Jaguars starter Byron Leftwich today.

Batch, who suffered a broken right collarbone in Friday night's exhibition opener vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, is expected to miss four to six weeks.

good pick up, i think, brings more to the table in terms of overall skills over batch, if big ben goes down, they have a bona fide nfl starter to take over, i like the move
