I hear you bro. How about the guys that just pick a game, no explanation, facts or reasoning and have the dancing locks? Love when they come back after and say the squares lose again, or when they lose, the squares won. I make a living in Finance and theirs many similarities to gambling. Money management is of the utmost importance. I don't buy shit stocks that are cheap. They are cheap for a reason. Invest in good companies/teams. Invest in companies/teams that have good mgmt/coaching and a record of success. Guys never learn and always get sucked in to investing dollars in shit companies because they can grab a lot of shares or it's cheap. Same goes with picking crap teams because they give you a ton of points. Yes, shit happens, but more often than not, early in the game your thinking, why the hell did I back that team? Vegas wasn't giving a lot of points because they felt generous. Wall street doesn't sell good stocks cheap either. You can certainly make money on dogs and I don't always play favorites, but c'mon they don't call them dogs for nothing.

By the way, I have no illusions of making a living betting on sports. I do it simply to enhance my viewing pleasure. We all love the action and putting some dollars where our mouth is. Lived in Vegas for over a decade and boy did I see some sad stuff. Watched the movie Owning Mahowny a couple weeks back. Was made on a cheap budget and not the best movie, but damn, gamblers will relate to this. True story and some parts made me sick how reckless he was and his inability to walk away when he was winning. The guy was so bad that somedays he just told his bookie with MLB "give me all the home teams in the NL and all the road teams in the AL" WTF? He didn't have a reason either and talk about random picks with no explanation or capping. Hint, things didn't end well for Mr Mahowny. Mahowny was betting dollars. I can only hope that most the people you are talking about are only betting sbr points.

I've got to disagree here. Most "Pros" laugh at people who give long writeups on NFL games. I'm sorry but the NFL is way to efficient to beat with gut feelings. "Pros" have a model on excel and it spits out the games to take and all you get is a pick, not a long winded explanation.
