NFL Bye-Week Blues

Gentlemen, the new CBA agreements are hurting teams that get a week off.

Let's look at how teams have done so far this season:

Week 6, teams with bye in Week 5

Cleveland Lost 17-24 to Oakland (ATS - Push)

Dallas Lost 16-20 to New England (ATS - Won)

St. Louis Lost 3-24 to Green Bay (ATS - Lost)

Miami Lost 6-24 to NY Jets (ATS - Lost)

Washington Lost 13-20 to Philly (ATS - Lost)

Baltimore Won 29-14 vs. Houston (ATS - Won)



Week 7, teams with bye in week 6

Denver Won 18-15 vs. Miami (ATS - Won)

Tennessee Lost 7-41 vs. Houston (ATS - Lost)

Kansas City Won 28-0 vs. Oakland (ATS - Won)

Arizona Lost 20-32 vs. Pittsburgh (ATS - Lost

San Diego Lost 21-27 vs. NY Jets (ATS - Lost)

Seattle Lost 3-6 vs. Cleveland (ATS - Push)

Now I'm not going to claim that this is an end all be all but look at the trends here. The teams that have won have either been playing teams that were even worse off. Some (Tennessee, San Diego) lost as favorites. Others did it ugly (Denver, Baltimore). Kansas City stands out, but they played an Oakland team that was in disarray.

Bottom line here is be careful on teams coming off their bye. They look out of sync and flat.

And with the debacle last night in Jacksonville a 2-5 week going 2-4-1 ATS. Ugly.

so many really bad teams that it to early to tell, but stands to reason that the bye isnt the adv it used to be for teams that prepare well as they are not allowed to practice anyway (lazy fukks, who fought for this in the cba?)... still figure it will be helpful to teams later in the year when they are banged up (Dal really needed theirs, although they still lost the gm played very well)....

certainly changes the way ppl should think of the bye as i just cant see it being the adv it used to be for certain teams/coaches and def something to pay attention to the rest of this season...
