The Bail-out Game: Vikes at Bears

Whenever I get a chance to fade Donovan McNabb against a decent defense I normally jump at it, and tonight is my chance and I took it. Bears aren't getting much respect because of their record, but realize they have already played three of the best teams (Saints, Packers, Lions). Now the Vikes roll in high off their win against a mediocre Cardinals team, but I think the Bears are going to dish them a reality check at Soldier Field.

Tonight's game: The Vikings give up 272 yards per game passing, which means a matchup problem against the Bears' pass-heavy offense. Say what you want about Cutler (and I have), the fact is if he is protected to any degree he can torch a defense. He will have Earl Bennett back for this game, Bennett missed the last three games with chest injury. The Vikes will try to pound AP since that worked for them last week against Arizona. But the Bears will game-plan for that and contain AP like they did last year when he only rushed for 51 yards against them.

The Vikings were not competitive against the Bears in either matchup last year even with Brett Favre, and I don't expect a much different result tonight with Donovan McNabb. When McNabb is your locker-room leader, the team chemistry is that of a loser.

Odd line movement on this. Bears were -3 + 112 and ML was -135. Line dropped to Bears -1 (-123) and Bears ML has only dropped slightly to -130. I like the Bears here at home in must win game. Nervous about Viking D line going against weak O-line for Bears. Urlacher usually has good games against Peterson and should be very motivated after horrible performance last week against Lions. GL

Cutler is a good QB, Martz is a terrible offensive coordinator. That is the problem. If the Bears do not try to run this game than they will have major problems.

True, however the last 4 of those games were against teams with legit threats at QB. Rodgers, Brees, Newton, and Stafford are all significant big play threats. McNabb is definitely not, and so Chicago can put more of their attention towards stopping Peterson. The Vikings are the weakest team the Bears have faced this season, and coming off one division loss, this game means a LOT to them. The more I think about this, the more I like the Bears in this spot.

Both these teams suck. But I think all things point towards a Bears win.

- Bears want redemption after their loss to Detroit last week
- McNabb sucks
- As good as AP is, I think Urlacher and Briggs hold him under 100 yards. If you can keep AP in check, Vikes are done for.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think the Bears eek out a win here. I really think they are going to regret sitting Harris for Major Wright (sucks and is a moron on the field) and Chris Conte (first NFL sucks)

I somewhat agree on Bears but you failed to mention that the Bears suck against the run so far this year and the fact that Minny had 5 and 4 turnovers in those two games last year which shouldnt be taken into account anyway. Still you have some edge anyway in betting the home team always and at -1 or -3 in your case, I tend to agree.
Also I think they should go over the total. I dont see a blowout in this one thats for sure. Time will tell.

McNabb is due for big game....Allen is going to create havoc for Cutler and the turnover battle will be won by the Vikings...that plus AP and the running game will open it up for McNabb to throw. I think it best to stay away from this game or take the correct $ play...Vikings +1 (+105) or the m/l +112.....GL TO ALL THOUGH...IT AIN'T ABOUT WHO WINS....IT IS ABOUT THE $$$$$$$
