    This article treats ATS records as though they are a static data set and doesn't consider that as a team consistently performs above or below expectations, the lines will be adjusted accordingly... The correlation coefficient hovering around zero implies that the bookmakers are very good at assigning and adjusting the value of each team, and even though there will be outliers that continued to get better or worse as the books adjusted (playing ahead of the curve), the average team over the course of the season will go 8-8 ATS... Which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
