The Bills game was also posted as a "must win" and Philly still played sloppy and tanked in the end. I hope the Skins send the Eagles to 1-5 (they matchup well almost everywhere in this game). Not sure enough either way so will stay away from putting money on either side.

take this stat for what its worth but

redskins total td: 9

Eagles total td: 14

You would think the eagles are the 3-1 team and redskins 1-4.

Guys don't get it twisted. the eagles are still in the mix. Take a look at the standings, their only 3 games behind grossman. If philly can limit those dam turnovers they should take this game down.. Along with that run D it should be at the top of their priority list.

Giants and cowboys have their hands full this weekend. arguably tougher opponents than philly.

this is definitely an interesting spot for philly.
Regardless of the outcome I am curious what they make out of this situation.

I'd rather stay away from putting any money on Philly until they break this loosing streak of theirs. Surely there are better plays on the board.

I think you are underestimating the defense of the Redskins here (and/or not considering the terrible def of the Eagles)

You are using just the number of touchdowns as your point of comparison.

Take a look at the defensive stats:

Opp Yards/Play	5.8	5.1
Opp Points/Play	0.437	0.269
Opp Completion %	63.70%	54.61%
Opp 3D Conv %	38.10%	26.00%
Opp RZ Scoring %	78.57%	36.36%
TO Margin/Game	-2	-0.2
Penalty Yds/Game	49.6	18.8

Looking at the last 3 stats, in particular -- this is the reason they are 1-4. They cannot stop anyone (especially in the red zone), they turn the ball over too much, and they are undisciplined. If they cannot perform better in these three areas, they cannot beat Washington.

That said, I'd probably stay away from this game. One of these days, they might just figure it out and roll over someone by 30 points... I just wouldn't gamble on which week it happens.

the redskins are not the bills...

philly is my favorite play this week, redskins are overrated right now and the eagles are too talented and too desperate to lose to them

have you watched the eagles? they cannot stop anybody, they are too small, can't block, can't tackle. both on defense and o line. defense wins football games, unless vick can put up a shitload of points.

The Redskins are not overrated. I've been telling you people since August that this is an 8+ win team. You guys keep wanting to look at the recent history of Washington to make your prognostications on them, which frankly is a gigantic mistake given that practically the entire roster has been flipped. They have 11 new starters over last year alone.

Here is the thing about this game. Philadelphia is the better team and they are in a critical spot where a loss will pretty much end them. They have been losing because they have been making mostly stupid mistakes, not because their opponents are necessarily beating them. Some of these "mistakes" have really been nothing more than flukes. Also, as solid as the Redskins defense has been, they can be had by speed, which is pretty much all the Eagles have on offense. I give them an advantage and with all these things considered I expect the Eagles to win this week.

The big question in this game is Philly's defense. When everyone was going gaga anointing the Eagles as the greatest thing since the Steel Curtain, a couple of us tried to warn people that Philly was going to have problems because as great as they are in coverage, none of those people can tackle. They have weak linebackers and seem intent on playing that Wide-9 scheme, so teams have been able to run between the tackles all day on Philly. That is what the Redskins want to do, but that is something the Eagles can hinder if they make some adjustments to what they are doing. The Redskins passing game isn't likely to do much (especially if Armstrong stays out as he is their only deep threat that opens things up underneath).

I like the Eagles this week. I also like the fact that this will cause so many of you to think this "exposes" the Redskins so I can go back to cashing big on them when the odds show that perception is trumping reality, just like it did against the Giants & Cowboys (+7 was a pathetic joke when it opened) and Rams.

I love the Eagles this week and already bet them at -1. If they lose this week, their season is over so this REALLY is a must-win game. Unlike last week, this is a division game and a loss puts them four games out in the loss column. I just don't see that happening.
