Only way Jerry Rice keeps the title is if Calvin all of a sudden gets massive injuries. Don't see anyway this guy slows down, he will break all of his records if he plays til he is old

I don't think you understand how good Jerry Rice was... Calvin is a monster, but has a lot of work to do to be mentioned with Rice. That being said, he could break a few records this year, and has already broken one...so yeah.

He's amazing but you're getting ahead of yourself to already put him ahead of Rice. Look up how many records Rice holds, he's still #1 and easily.

CJ is like Aaron Rodgers (lowest int percentage over 1500 throws in NFL history) in that they're doing things that haven't been done before but its still way early in their careers.

Not even close.
Just because he has a good start to the year?
Two good years, two below average years. A bum like roy williams did the same thing in Detroit before he flamed out.
NFL is a pussy league now which favors qb's/wr's, can't even compare to Rice and no he won't break his career records.

Think about what Rice did during a different era. Now everyone throws for 300 yards a game. Back then it was a big deal.

Moss was supposed to break Rice's records.
T.O. was supposed to break Rice's records.
They didnt and neither will CJ.

His 2 below average years were with 6 different qb's. I do not know if he will be better than Jerry but he is far and away the best in the league right now.

He's got the most god-given talent at WR other than Moss, and he seems to have a much better work ethic than Moss too. Can he keep it up for a decade? If he can, he very well could be considered the best ever. Its no easy task though

This is really the first 5-game stretch he's played with a decent quarterback and look what he's doing..Of course he didnt do anything when he was playing with career 3rd string quarterbacks. Jerry rice played with 2 hall of famers his career..Calvin could very well be the best when its said and done. Way too early to tell now though

I don't think Calvin is as talented as Moss. Moss could've been the best ever, but he's a dumbass. Check back in a decade and maybe this can be talked about then.

Since he plays for the Lions I'm sure something will happen along the way to prevent him from this prediction.
So he's going to get 200 td's and 23000 rec. yards??

jerry rice is obviously the best of all time but calvin johnson is no chris bosh or danny granger.
jerry rice = michael jordan
Calvin Johnson = kareem or in terms of shooting guards- kobe. hes way up high on the list. you cant stop him.

We will have to wait and see. Hard to do anything Rice did, but if the Lions play like this for the next 10 years, well maybe...
Who said Stafford was a middle of the road QB? He is top 10, if not top 5 materiel. Megatron has been waiting for him to stay healthy. Now we see what happens when he is.
Right now? Calvin is the best.

No, although it's a possibility later in his career, albeit a remote one.

he is unstoppable at the goal line. if detroit is at the 1 yard line, all they have to do is run a jumbo package and then throw a jumpball. as long as team only single cover him in these situations instead of putting two guys out there, he will not be stopped all season. a corner back can not guard him at the goal line.

he has rights to and first crack at almost every ball thrown in his direction. "dibs" so to speak.
Stafford and Johnson were talking to gruden recently in an interview, before this last game, about face and body language symbols the two of them use and will use for communicating route and pass adjustments and specifics. There are many places where the QB can throw him open most of the time.

Calvin Johnson may not even be the best CURRENT receiver in the NFL, his namesake Andre is pretty good too.

I love how we have threads like this all the time.
There must be a lot of 20 year-olds here that never saw Jerry Rice play.
