Back from 3-1 last Sunday with the only loss being the backdoor on Chicago. Thanks to Devin Hester for preventing the blowout early by giving Cam Bam good field position after the stupid unsportsmanlike penalty post punt return TD. That's what happens, though, we know what we're getting into and we'll get paid on the other side at some point in the future. Nevertheless, let's move on to this week's picks:
Indianapolis -2
Kansas City beats now 0-4 Minnesota (at home) and all of a sudden they are a force to reckon with? Of course, Indianapolis is 0-4, I know, but this line should be Indy -3 minimum. They have played well at home and they looked good at TB on Monday night. Painter has played well. They'll get the win.
Houston -5.5
Expect the Raiders to get a big dose of Foster. Wade Phillips has turned this defense around and I don't see Oakland doing as much as they'd like. New England's D is nowhere near Houston's, and NE was on the road last week ... they were able to check Campbell and McFadden. Houston will make enough plays to get the cover. People haven't realized how good Houston is and they have overestimated Oakland.
Green Bay -5.5
Don't think. Just keep riding Green Bay. They are one of the few elites in a crappy league so far and their offense is almost indefensible. It doesn't help that ATL doesn't have a defense. If Green Bay doesn't turn it over a ton of times, they'll be in position to get what we want.
Tease the above if available to you with big points (13), otherwise, just play them straight or parlay. I think an interesting move (which I've done) is to parlay these three with Detroit ML on Monday Night, in which case you can take the Bears for the middle if alive on Monday Night.
Best of luck,
