Ahhh wildcard Wednesday… and while I know there are some incredible baseball playoffs going on—which I promise to get to soon enough—there is just too much going on in the NFL where I would argue Week 5 matter as as much for some of these teams as last nights game did for the Rays. Condolences to all 28,299 people that came out to watch the game—guess they shouldn’t have had hank Williams singing the National Anthem. Odd… I don’t remember any goose-stepping in that song. Relax everyone, Williams Jr apologized yesterday for his comments—that he said were misunderstood. Don’t misunderstand me, I think the holocaust was a terrible tragedy—in fact if you google terrible tragedy it comes back right at the top just ahead of Swingin’ Johnson’s podcast— but did he really compare Obama to Hitler or did he simply try to make a political analogy in saying our President—a Democrat—golfing with Speaker of The House John Boehner—a Republican—is like a Nazi golfing with a Jew? Regardless it’s a ridiculous analogy. A Nazi and Jew could never golf together—neither one would pay for the Jew’s round.

Fantasy alert guys:
The bye teams for Week 5 are: Cleveland, Dallas, St. Louis, Miami, Washington and Baltimore. That’s just on the NFL schedule. If you are a fantasy owner—the bye weeks for the Rams are now Weeks 5 though 17 because—even if you have a stud like Stephen Jackson—he never gets an opportunity to score. Between an ineffective offense that never gets to the red zone and a defense that is trailing so often and so quickly that the running game is a non-factor in the second half Stephen Jackson has become a fantasy bust this season. Sure he’s a great player but having Stephen Jackson this year is like having a great porno on VHS… really exciting to watch but you just don’t have anywhere to play it.
The Eagles are in a must win situation in Buffalo this week
The 1-3 Dream Team travels to Buffalo this week to face the Bills and—while they find themselves in a must win situation—I can’t see that happening unless they make some changes on offense. And it starts with leaving in their playmakers on short yardage and goal line situations and replacing them with hulking Tight Ends and Fullbacks. If you’re a an eagles fan, you’d rather be in a men’s room than a sports bar and hear someone say “look at this big package.” Hey Fat Boy Reid, you’re married, you should know that being a good coach to your players is like being a good husband to your wife… you stick with them especially when they are in the red Zone.
Being a kicker in the NFL sucks.
Unless you’re Adam Vinatieri, you get 99% goat and 1% glory as an NFL Kicker which was never more evident than in the Eagles 49er’s game this past Sunday. It was a home coming of sorts for David Akers who—despite being the most prolific kicker in Eagles history—was released in the off season in favor of Alex Henery—the most accurate kicker in NCAA history. And just when things could look worse for Akers after going one for three with a 33yard miss and a 34yarder blocked—enter Alex Henery who became the first man in NFL history to miss TWO FG’s of less than 40 yards in the 4<sup>th</sup> quarter of his teams one point loss. Last time I saw anyone kicking something that wildly—I was watching outtakes of I love Lucy.

Sorry if it’s a little late but how about a little Mad love to our boy boy Godsmack who went 7-1-1 ATS in the WEEK 4 NFL Thread. Yet somehow this thread only had under 200 views this week. Guys, don’t blame The SBR Forum if you aren’t winning… blame Godsmack this week because after this, there’s no way I didn’t jinx him. Nice work G-sizzle stay hot this week so we can all piggyback.
