Welcome to the official thread for the Monday Night showdown between the Bears and Lions 10/10/11. I'd like to get the conversation going so we can have plenty of discussion before next week. The line is already down from -7 to -6 favoring the Lions and might continue to drop. Detroit is 3-0-1 ATS while the Bears are 1-3.

Will the Lions soft weeks 1-4 schedule hurt them against a Bears team who have faced several great teams this season?

Can the Lions stop Matt Forte?

Will Calvin Johnson score 2-3 touchdowns once again?

O/U 2 INT's for Jay Cutler?

Are the Bears a little to banged up to pull this one off?

For some reason I think the Bears +6 is a gift. Should I jump on it, line is most likely going to go down right? Divisional game on MNF with these two teams, I just think its going to be close all the way thru.

This is a hard game to cap. If I had to choose, it would be the Lions money line. I'm avoiding the ATS.

You couldn't be more right on it being a hard game to cap. If I had to put down units on it now, I would probably go Bears +6 just because, A. I'm a Bears fan and B, these two teams seem to always play a close one.

The Lions have had a soft schedule. They had to come back against the 0-4 Vikings and a Cowboys team that loves to give away leads. The Bears on the other hand have faced very quality talent weeks 1-4. I expect the line to move a little more, but not past -4, -5 Lions. This is one of the harder picks of the week. BOL

Bears aren't 1-3, just FYI.
This is a good matchup. The Bears are the best team the Lions are going up against this year so far. I don't see the Lions in a 'coming out' party. They've had to come back against some really bad teams. Dallas, also, gifted them the game. Good teams are also very lucky, so, Det is a good team, no doubt. But I'd be really carefull of 'crowning their asses'. Bears are still one of the top teams in the NFC. I actually hope the line stays highly in favor of the Lions, this could be a good ML play this week on Chi.

Det is over hyped, and not 6 pts better than the Bears. this will be a close game, Det maybe a FieldGoal better. i like the Bears + the points, in a 23-20 win by the lions.

Surprised it hasnt been mentioned:
1) Det first time back on MNF in 10 years AND home...Motivation - yeah i think so
2) Nick Fairley is probable tonight (people have forgotten about him, No 1 draft pick from auburn last year...him and suh will do well)
3) Stafford is healthy (until when....?) (and of course megatron...who will cover him? You need at LEAST 2 guys right?

Combine with
1) Chi still bad O - line
2) You see cutler dumping off to Forte or on his back from being sacked

I do know its a MNF divisional game, and those are tough (which is why i think the line is less that 7 - for now). And people like to look at historic stats, which is fine. But this is the first time in a long time Det lions are for real. And at home, MNF, undefeated...i like my line at det -5)

The question is will Detroit come in too pumped up since its their 1st big primetime game in decades? Detroit has that nasty D-line but the back 7 is nothing special. This is the same team that was down 27-3 to Romo with Miles Austin out/Dez Bryant & Felix Jones maybe 70%! Forte is the best RB in the game and Hester is a weapon too....I like Chicago ML and points.

A small play imo...wouldn't be shocked if Cutler got dropped 8 times and they got beat down. I say that because Mike Martz is an overrated/cocky dumba$$ in my book and will get Cutler killed with the wrong gameplan.
