Could you explain why Dallas is such a huge play vs. New England? I vowed last season to never bet on Romo, and definitly not vs Brady. Yeah NE's defence sucks a big one but that Dallas offenece isnt exatly getting it done either.Comment -
I typically don't bet Dallas and Romo as a favorite, but love them in an underdog spot.
Here are my reasons though and I'm glad you asked:
1. Dallas is something like 9-0 ATS after their Bye week
2. Dallas matches up well against New Englands offense. They have an Elite Pass Rusher to pester Brady all day long. Dallas' corners are not anything to write home about, however, New England lacks a deep vertical threat. True they have Wes Welker, but he is better geared as a slot receiver than a deep threat.
3. Dallas has too many weapons on offense for the Pats defense to stop. The Pats have not seen an offense like this. The closest thing was San Diego who lost and did not cover the spread, but moved the ball at will against the Pats. The Pats should have lost that game.
4. Lastly, Dallas and Tony Romo win games when they are underdogs. This game reminds me of a game the Cowboys played in New Orleans a couple years ago. At the time, the Saints were undefeated but Dallas stepped up and kicked the shit out of them.
5. Dallas has not lost by more than a TD in forever.
At the very least, I see Dallas in position for a back door cover. I will take my chances with the Cowboys because they shine in this spot. I actually like them to win SU, but will gladly take a 7point cushion.
