It mostly depends on the price of the half point. Buying off the key numbers, if a book isn't charging the appropriate amount, is an automatic no-brainer +EV thing to do. Nowadays though, it's true, most books charge you too much to do that, but it used to be the case that many did not, and just charged 10 cents to buy a half point at any number.

Thanks for the clarification. This wasn't apparent based on the video. If he's buying off the 3 for 10 cents, then yeah it's +EV, but someone please tell me where I can get that deal! lmao. He really needs to quote the point buy price point where it becomes +EV if he's got that math all figured out. Otherwise it's bush league analysis, he's completely ignoring the relevant numbers.

pavy did you actually watch the vids and follow what they said? They had a great first weekend. Lost with the Tennessee recommendation, but nailed the Thursday New Orleans/GB game spot on, and called for specific overs in the Pitt/Bal, Wash/Giants and Dallas Jets games

Why would I watch them Loshy? I'm hitting 76% in college footbal so far, 66% in NFL (albeit only one day so far), 60% in US Open, 60% in soccer. This is all by myself. No need to hear an opinion that will make me change my mind.

But if you want to invite "experts" on your show go ahead. I'm pretty sure most people here can learn something but I have been doing this for 25 years without any expert help. I'm a notepad and a pencil guy.

homer not all experts are created equal, but we try to have guys on who have proven track records

that was John Ryan, his other college leans on the show went 3-3, hopefully he will end up the year decently over 50%

Sure, the guys who don't use models have much more to say, it's the modelers who often have few opinions other than what their spreadsheets spit out.
