can someone explain to me how in the CFL a score can go from 3-0 to 4-0?

i think if the receiving team doesn't advance the ball out of the endzone on a kickoff or punt the kickoff team scores 1 pt.

i know the endzones are bigger, i'll try and find the rules.

You get a point for a touchback in the CFL. So instead of taking a knee when you receive a punt or letting it go into the endzone you have to try and return it unless you're willing to give up the point.

Most of the time it comes off of missed FG's though.
