Owls biggest strength is their defense--theyre 1st in the maac in points allowed, pass defense, rush defense, and total defense. the only teams in the NATION with a better defense statistically are alabama, lsu, michigan state, and central florida. Their defense is supported by middle linebacker stephen johnson, defensive end adrian robinson, linebacker tahir whitehead, and strong safety justin gildea. Temple averages 385 yards per game and gives up just 263. the best defense ohio has seen this year has been rutgers (17th in the nation) ..this is a rivalry game where ohio has defeated the owls the past 2 years, however, this is a much better temple team this year plus the fact bernard pierce was injured the first play of last years showdown. Temple plays very well on the road (3-1)with their most impressive victory of the season @maryland by 31pts. Addtitionally, theyre 6-2 ATS this season. This will be a shootout in Athens where the atmosphere of a Blackout will intensify this rivalry.
