in nhl, the beg of the year is really tricky because teams that start off on a hot or cold streak get way too much love, or very little, respectively...so you have big faves with a lot of chalk only because they've won a few games and play at home. be vary wary of that.

the books rake it in this time of year when the public takes the faves that are playing well. in hockey it only takes a hot goalie one night or a couple bounces in the right direction to win a game. any low life team can beat a huge fave in their own building
