That's not the NFL rule ur supposed to slide not dive forward.And if he dove for a first down and no one touched him and got back up an ran for a td he gave himself up? There was no whistle therefore a fumble which was why Tony dungy was furious ab the call post game as everyone should be if ur gonna call the tuck rule as NFL rules state then call giving yourself up as the rules state

yeah i did. it just looked like he fell forward to me(not sure if thats giving yourself up) but it doesnt matter anymore so im over it. giants still had to score a touchdown and they did.

buck, he doesn't have to only slide feet first to be considered downing yourself.

that's exactly what cruz did. he fell to the ground to avoid getting smashed and risk fumbling. the ball is then dead and cannot be advanced. he couldn't have gotten back up and ran for a td either. he didn't stumble or trip over his feet. he fell forward to be downed. players do that a lot. especially at the end of games to stay in bounds
