Lions or pass. This game is like Super Bowl to Detroit, they are never on national TV outside Thanksgiving, and they are a great preseason team, 12-2 straight up and 10-3-1 ATS last 14 preseason games.

Plus 80% of bets are on New England, and the line hadn't budged off of -4. I see the fact that you found a -3.5 as a bad sign.

Right, but this week is their first national TV non-Thanksgiving game since Truman was president.

Do you think they are really going to get that hyped for this game? I think they would be well served to try to keep things on an even keel. Pats are super deep, very prepared and see this game as a key test for the regular season and will have a balanced attack that is tough to defend. Defensively they have shown a much improved pass rush, with depth/competition also factoring in.

I think if Detroit gets too up for this game and take a fairly easy(quite possible) beating it could be discouraging. Also, "legit" playoff contenders don't treat pre-season games like the Superbowl.
