Carolina Panthers O/U 4.5 Total Wins
    Thoughts?

Looking at their schedule, It's quite possible that they go 0-8 after their bye week. So, what does their first half look like, boys?

I'd think about the over on that one if the value is right. Getting rid of john fox is a big plus for that club. whos dikc was he sucking in charlotte to stay on that long, and divert all that money to his other queer lover delhomo? Nothing but up for the panthers without fox at the helm.

I believe they Beat AZ in the opener- Jags wk 3 - Chicago wk 4 - Wash wk 7 -
Houston wk 15, now exclude one of those and add a split with Atlanta.
          5 games is $$$$$$

true ! let me rephrase my comment. "I definitely do not see them beating Atlanta. I think Atlanta will be a powerhouse in the NFC this year. I have been wrong before tho. "

Under. Get on +money now. Think vig will swap to under after Newton sucks more Thursday playing 3Qs. 45% in preseason and not a single 3rd down conversion or TD after 2 games.

Carolina Total Wins Under 4.5 -105 (pinn -102, greek +100)
                    3x to win 2.86

They are looking at a nightmare QB situation, the worst in the League, and a 1st time head coach has to deal with it. Start Clausen, start Newton, doesn't matter. Neither are NFL level. Would like to see Clausen start and do terrible, like last year, and they bring in Newton as the savior and he does as bad or worse.

Do they start a 23 yo QB who threw 52% his first year, 3x more INTS than TDs, with a 58 passer rating? Or a 22 yo QB who's all hype after 1 year in D1 College and totally unprepared mentally for NFL? Screwed no matter what they do.

Lockout hurt Carolina more than anyone. Rivera a 1st time head coach behind the ball with totally new players. No nucleus established, no continuity. Rivera brought in a new OC, Rob Chudzinski, who was a TE coach in SD. Only OC exp is 2 years in 07-08 with Browns. So he has about 6 weeks to implement an Offense from scratch, with 2 bums at QB to work with. The DC, Sean McDermott, is also new and was fired at Philly. He has 6 weeks to implement a Defense from scratch. This can really be a disaster.

Coming off 2-14 and the schedule is harder this year + shit QB + 1st time coach

                    MINN / +3 / 41%

                    @NO / +13 / 11%

Possible they could be a dog in every game, but they might end up a -1/-2 at home to a team like WASH or TENN.

Key game is week 3 vs. JAX. They lose that they will be deflated after starting 0-2, then 3 losses @CHI, NO, @ATL. Start 0-6 and their season is done.

Key stretch is WASH, MINN, BYE, TENN. TENN should be a win after bye, but if MINN beats them decently and they have 1 or 0 wins, and Hasslebeck is dealing, they will beat CAR. After that, it's the walk of death last 7 games where they get 1 win max.

                    3-13

Screw the Pre-season. I don't put much stock into it. You may & others may, but some I'm sure agree with me.
Their are much better future wagers to take a shot at in my opinion. I know the Panthers at this point are not viewed the same as the Packers or Patriots would be if they looked a bit vulnerable after a few pre-season games, but the regular season is a different stage. They do have talent and a built in toughness in Carolina. They will more than 4.5.
GL though. I have nothing on it so I hope you cash it.

Built in toughness in Carolina? Are you a Carolina season ticket holder? I have to explain why preseason is important for Carolina and not the Pats?

Pats and Packers are elite teams with established and proven franchises, Coaches, QBs, Ds, Os. They only use preseason to fill out their rosters.

Carolina is the opposite. Unproven franchise, coaches, QBs, D, O, everything. Newton needs the preseason as he hasn't played a down in NFL and looks terrible against 2nd and 3rd stringers. Doesn't lead receivers, doesnt read Ds, terrible footwork, shit accuracy, etc. He is not a NFL QB, but they will throw him out there because they have little else and he was #1 overall.

Yes built in toughness. No I do not hold Carolina season tickets nor want to. I'm not going to debate about this.
                          Gl with your play.

tough one to call. In my opinion though this would be a stupid bet to make unless you are going to drop like 10,000 atleast... why bet on something that you can't collect your money for 3 or 4 months...???

Besides that you only win even money. If you think the Panthers are good bet on them ML they will be an underdog in almost every game they play.

if you think the panthers suck fade them. I think the Panthers last year were something like 3-14 ATS ... I made a lot of dough fading the Panthers last year.

But with Cam Newton as QB the sky is the limit for the Panthers. Only thing is J-Stew and Goodson are hurt right now and the Panthers have no depth at WR behind Steve Smith.
