Wow. This will be an amazing team this year. If Vick can stay healthy, the sky's the limit. Even if he can't, there's Young.

They must be close to going over the salary cap. Desean begging for more $$ and I've heard they're considering offering Vick more $$. Only matter of time until Asante is shipped out of town.

When was the last time a team won the free agency war and than won a super bowl ??
You win the Super Bowl through the draft not patching players left and right.
Ask the Jets

That's the big elephant in the room for PHI fans, but consider that most of the time teams go crazy in free agency they are usually overpaying for overrated players. When was the last time a team acquired this many quality players at reasonable prices? It's not like PHI is a shell of a team needing help, they already had a strong nucleus and stability in the coaching/organization ranks. I would still give GB the edge, but other than them the next biggest challenge is staying healthy.

Let's see if it can transfer to the field. Looking good on paper doesn't mean a thing. They do look good though.

Front Office attacked the weakest part of this team ... defense and has made massive upgrades. Only thing that continues to baffle me is that they treat the LB position like it's not an essential part of the defense.
Still want nothing to do with Plaxico and think the Giants will overpay to keep him away from Philadelphia if that is the perception or the Steelers may grab him. I still don't think he's anywhere in the Eagles plans and not sure why people continue to think that he should be.

Other than a viable red zone threat I don't see the need for Plax. D-Jax, Maclin, Avant, Celek, etc.
The great thing about bolstering the D is that PHI can now win a game on the backs of their O or D now. The new line coaches on both sides of the ball are underrated moves as well. My biggest question mark beyond LBs is Juan Castillo implementing his scheme. But how much worse can he be than McDermot?

Through the draft... I'm guessing you mean by drafting players that pan out years later. Free agency is a big part of shaping a team into a contender...

Free agency is important but patching players left and right never wins you a superbowl. I'll take an experience team that has players that know there system than a bunch of patch together parts to claim there superbowl bound now by signing every top prospect.
Another ex. ( Different sport, but Miami Heat)
Build your team for your system like the Saints did or Green Bay did. Those are the type of teams you have to watch.

took dallas over a decade to win a title
were kidd, marion, peja, butler, chandler not "patched together" the last couple years?
miami got to the finals in 1 year
kinda bad example?

If I remember right, the Patriots put together their dynasty through free agency, didn't they have a bunch of veterans and "castoffs" . I think the Jets are who the Eagles got this idea from. You can buy a defense and slap it together if you aren't teaching your whole team a new system. If the Jets had already had the #3 offense in the NFL, they'd have been absolute money with that D.
If Indy got the guys Philly got, they'd be instant faves. Guess what, Philly scored more points than them last year.
Why is it that when the trash Redskins add washed-up McNabb and Shanny everyone goes "Hurr... durr... they're going to the playoffs if not the superbowl" but when a team that hung in there with Green Bay last year patches a bunch of defensive holes its "well they look good on paper..."
Walter forgot... when you're desperate's when you got no choice.

Also, a lot of these guys like Babin and Nnamdi are getting 4 year type deals. This isn't a rent-a-team.
