That's just what I was bitching about in my thread. WTF was Harbaugh doing there. The Chargers were going to get 4 shots at a score from the 1 yard line and Balty had 3 timeouts. They ended up getting the ball with 19 seconds left instead of the 40 or more that they would have had if they used their timeouts. That was so stupid. I expect more out of Harbaugh. Piss poor.Comment -

#609It's just because Christmas and New Years fall on Sundays.Originally posted by Dexterive never seen this either...no bowl games on new years day is crazy
Historically, the NFL avoids games on Christmas, except for a penchant to have one night game. Because the NFL avoids games on Christmas, they put the games on Saturday.
However, just like the NFL avoids games on Christmas, the NCAAF avoids putting games on against the NFL. Therefore, with the NFL having a full slate on New Years Day, the NCAAF planners were smart in avoiding games that day. They will get more viewers on Monday, when the NFL is off.
Most corporations in the US have scheduled January 2nd as a paid holiday off. Again, this is because January 1 falls on a weekend. Nothing more than a scheduling quirk.Comment -

#612Obviously. But I still cannot recall in the last 20 years so many games on Saturday, and I'm sure that Christmas has fallen on a Sunday in the last 20 ... hmm, just checked and in 2005 yes they played all but 2 games on Sunday (1 on Monday) on Saturday the 24th ... interesting that I don't remember that at all. Haha, now I know why.Originally posted by Love The ActionIt's just because Christmas and New Years fall on Sundays.

Curious that Chicago/Green Bay was the Christmas Day game that day with Baltimore Minnesota, both of which were decided by a TD.Comment -

#616if the giants win their game, i will be buying back my 5u play on dallas:
Cowboys-Eagles has a 4:15PM ET start on Saturday, and the game will be meaningless from Dallas' perspective if the Giants win at 1PM ET because the NFC East division would not be decided until Week 17Comment -

#617That's incorrect. The cowboys still need to win for wild card reasons should they lose the division to the giants, plus after the last embarrasment to the eagles, they will not want to lose again.Originally posted by Dexterif the giants win their game, i will be buying back my 5u play on dallas:

Bryan Broaddus of ESPN Dallas and Matt Mosley of FOX Sports Southwest are both hearing that Felix Jones will not play a snap in Saturday's game against the Eagles if the Giants beat the Jets at 1PM ET.
Per Mosley, Jones will still only be 50-50 to play if the Jets win. If you have no interest in reading further, we'll tell you right now that Felix Jones is not a Week 16 fantasy option. Even if the Jets win and Jones DOES play, owner Jerry Jones has vowed that Sammy Morris will play a significant role. This, clearly, is a situation to avoid in fantasy title week. Dec 23 - 11:46 PM

#619Yeah, I just read that the Cowboys wild card tie breakers have very little chances of winning and therefore they are limited to winning the division in order to make the playoffs.Originally posted by Dexteri just pm'd you this, but will post here for anyone else who can help clarify:

#621After my two losses last week, I had togo back to my drawing board and my NFL formulas!!! Same thing happen to me last year on the last weeks of NFL, but I bounced back with 6 out 8 in wildcard & play-offs and picked Green bay to win Super Bowl !!!! Giants are on a 2-5 run, but it's important to note that in that stretch they played the Pats. 49ers, Eagles,Saints,Packers and Cowboys. That simply tells me that the Giants are a notch below the NFL's elite and that even if they were to win their way into the playoffs, the odds are against this team getting much further than one and out.. here's my formula-edge that I can come up with. It should be a great game to watch, and should come down to more possession for Giants with both offence and defense .With a real opinion from stats and formulas for making my bet this week,I will take any points available with what figures to be a live dog, using my formulas with and against the spread in this case the Giants.I expect a solid effort from both sides after being embarrassed last week.Giants +3 -120.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My record after the 17 weeks ~21-14-1~... last 20 >Lost taking Giants and Steelers. Lost with the Ravens-1 1/2 against the Chargers. Won with Seattle-5 against the Rams Monday Night. Loss with Dallas -3 against Giants,Won with Green Bay-11 1/2 against Oakland, Won with San Diego-7 against Buffalo Won with Saints-8 against Detroit Loss taking Pat's-20 against the Colts Loss taking the under 51 Saints&Giants game,Won with Tennessee-3 against Tampa bay, Won taking the Ravens-3 Thanksgiving day, Won Pats-15 against KC .Lost Giants-3 Against Niners .Won Seakwaks +3 against St.Louis Lost+3 Giants Against Niners .Won Houston by 10 1/2 against Browns Lost Monday Night Game Taking Eagles-7 Against the Bears. Lost the Pittsburgh vs New England bet over 501/2. WinMy Teaser with Dallas & Denver with a 6 1/2 point teaser. Lost Ravens -7 1/2 against Jaquars. Win with Lions-7 at home Against bears.. Loss taking Minnesota Vikings+3 against the Chicago Bears.. Winwith New York Jets over the Miami Dolphins on Monday night -7 Loss.taking the Miami +2 1/2 over Browns. #628i cant believe the pats are down to 7 - i defintely like to side with the big underdog in a divisional game, but this line opened at 10.5. 7 seems like a gift, and i just know i am going to look back when its 37-14 asking myself why i didnt unload on this gift. i have enough plays - will pass...Comment -
