Terry Glenn balks at injury waiver, wants release
    Star Telegram

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terry Glenn apparently wants out of town.

Glenn said Tuesday he has refused to sign a $500,000 injury settlement with the Cowboys and wants to be released.

"I was told I would be cut if I didn’t sign the waiver," Glenn said via text message. "So I guess they’re going to release me as promised. I just want to get on with my career somewhere where someone wants my abilities. I still have fight, and I don’t give up."
I am personally not sure how much he has left in the tank.

I agree. I mean, he's a fantastic talent. But he always had the tag of being "brittle". Now factor that he's also old. He might get some offers, but not a ton of $$$. Probably a one year deal 2x or 3x the veteran's min. That's still more than what the effective Dallas offer would be. Can't blame the guy for making a fairly basic career decision. Maybe he reunites with Big Tuna?

      Update

Agreed. I'd do same if I were him too.

      AP

Terry Glenn's contractual situation remains unsolved, and Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones did not take questions Wednesday.

While Glenn has said he wants his release, he also said "I would like nothing more than to be a Cowboy." He has declined to agree to a $500,000 split salary should he re-injure his right knee, which has been surgically repaired twice. He is scheduled to make $1.74 million this year.

Glenn's fellow receivers miss having the veteran around but did not want to get into the business part of the relationship between Glenn and the Cowboys.

"TG hasn't been here with us the first four weeks, so we've kind of adjusted," Patrick Crayton said. "He was here at the end of last season, so we had to go through the whole season basically without him. I'm hoping he comes back because I want to get that Super Bowl for him."

        Update

        Update.

        Dallas News

Wide receiver Terry Glenn is speaking with Dallas Cowboys officials again in the hopes of returning.

Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones said he's spoken to Glenn and his agent, James Gould.

"Terry is someone I have a lot of interest in," Jones said Friday night. "We worked well together last year. We will sit down here and look at how he fits and what we can do with him as a player this year."

Glenn has refused to sign an injury waiver that would give him $500,000 if he re-injures his right knee, so Glenn has missed all mandatory and voluntary on-field practices this off-season. The Cowboys told him he could not practice with the team without the waiver.

Gould was fired by a frustrated Glenn, who didn't return phone and text messages from team officials the last few weeks. Gould has been since rehired.
