I would like to gather some information for a research paper I am writing about how the results of sport games affect consumer purchasing behaviors. The best way I see being able to do this would be linking your emotions to the results of a sports game and compare that to research already done on how emotions impact consumer decisions. Also if you know of any research done on this topic it would be appreciated but I did look pretty hard. Thank you so much for your help !!!
    Additional Details

Any answers help, however I am looking for emotions as a FAN of a team.

    Yankee fan.
If they lose a May 16th day game, could not care less, unless they were in like a 5 game losing streak, then I might like "yeesh, we stink lately", but I'd be over it in an hour or less.

Now after watching 6 months, 162 games all year NYY loses game seven, then I'm pissed for a day or two.

yeah man check alcohol sales after the superbowl. I bet the losing team's city actually purchases more alcohol the week after the game than the winning side.

Due to wagering, I have become relatively desensitized to my teams' outcomes. Unless they are in the playoffs and playing for something important, I shrug wins and losses off.

They had a report on the news that said the heart attack rate is higher for the superbowl losing teams city for the next year.

It really does affect people, that is why we are called FANacticalS.

Being a fan of the Texans and Season Ticket Holder... I expect them to find a new way to lose a game if they do win then I expect them to lose the next week

                  Season 1 emotions were high

Season 2 emotions were somewhat high

Season 3 - only betting the points or over under on my team

                  JP
