2011 NFL Lockout / Nevada gaming industry
losing the NFL would be a huge blow to the gaming industry. If no NFL games are played in 2011 the books could lose $850 million. The Super Bowl alone brings in $80 to $95 million.Director of Lucky sports books Jimmy Vacaro is not optimistic.Jimmy doesn't see the season opening on time"Its impact would be more critical then the stoppage in baseball or basketball. This from the vice president of American Wagering Inc "it would be devastating to us and the entire industry"
Las Vegas Hilton Sports book director Jay Kornagy said this would be the worst case possible for the books.
He estimated 50% of the Sports book handle is from Football, and half of that is the NFL.
