Saints looking to move up to the no. 2 spot
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Saints have had contact with the Rams about a potential trade up in the NFL Draft.
Schefter calls the talks "preliminary." The Saints could be eyeing Glenn Dorsey or Vernon Gholston with Will Smith in a contract season, but might have to offer 2009 picks because they have only six this year. While the Scott Linehan Rams have executed several draft-day trades, future choices won't entice St. Louis with Linehan in must-win mode. According to the new trade chart, it'd take New Orleans' first- and second-round picks to get to No. 2.
saints would be foolish to give up 2 prospects for 1, imo.

They need help though. Dorsey or Gholston is the only guys I could rationalize doing that for, that goes for any other team too. Nobody else is that worth it, even Run DMC with all that $$ he's going to demand. Running backs don't last that long.

I want KC to trade down unless we can get Jake Long, Dorsey, or Ellis but I don't see it happening. The Jimmy Johnson rating of draft picks doesn't apply anymore as there really isn't that much difference between a top 5 pick and a top 25 pick anymore.

Is Miami going to trade Jason Taylor now for more 1st round picks? They were talking about it on ESPN last night but it sounds more like just a ESPN rumor. Any news today on this?

Miami wants to trade him, but the potential suitors are still holding their cards close to their vest. I'm not sure that Miami can get a 1st rounder. They can definitely a 2nd rounder, though. I imagine there's discussions going on, but the sides aren't really close enough to warrant rumors just yet. Again, this will probably happen during draft day.

I've heard that Jax is the likely customer. I imagine Jax has offered a 2nd rounder, but Miami wants a bit more. Something will get worked out.
