The NFL should show classic NFL games during the offseason.
Since the NFL has money problems. Why not show classic episodes of the NFL, one episode a week from March to August on networks like CBS, NBC and FOX? This should help increase revenue.

Games like the Patriots vs the Giants super bowl game or the recent amazing comeback with the Eagles vs the Giants?

They should air the best of Monday night football, the 2003 Colts vs Bucs game or the 1994 Chiefs vs Broncos, Elway vs Montana for example.

Man, I just watched that Colts-Bucs game from 2003. I'd be pissed if I was a Bucs fan, some of those calls were ridiculous. I loved the one where the ref called the facemask penalty, looked up at the jumbo-tron and realized how wrong he was and waved off the flag. lmao. The call at the very end was just pathetic, but symbolic of the game as a whole. Too bad SBR wasn't around back in 2003 because I bet there would've been some epic threads to bump about how the refs rigged that game. haha

This is a great idea GunShard. But even european sports channels don't show legendary matches that often...

The NFL Network is free in Canada and the NFLST is half the price. Go figure.

I was thinking about it, doesn't the NFL Network already own the rights to this kind of presentation?

I mean, the NFL Network already provides this exact service, doesn't it? Maybe the NFL shopped this idea to CBS, NBC & FOX back before the NFL Network existed and they didn't show much interest. So someone took the initiative and formed the NFL Network channel that features exactly what you are talking about.

You have to pay for the NFL network.
But having revenue on the NFL network as well as making revenue on the major networks like CBS, NBC and FOX which are free to the public.
The NFL can increase revenue because of a bigger audience than on NFL network.

111 million viewers watched the Super Bowl. Show another game a week after the Super Bowl would have profited off the momentum.

It might work but people will be turned off by not having HD quality video. It probably wouldn't pull in the necessary ratings on those networks but with some of the junk they have on now who knows.
