If so, packers to receive is a great play, I can't see any chance they will defer.
Will the Steelers defer if they win the coin toss?

#2I doubt the Steelers will defer. They know the Packers are a quick striking team that has done very well on opening drives. Even with a good defense that Pittsburgh has, Rodgers has the weapons to drive down the field and score on the opening possession. Its a psychological battle. If Pittsburgh wins the coin toss expect the Steelers to want to receive. In essence this bet would be a "coin toss"Comment -

#9Both teams have good Ds to rely on too, and that means you typically defer coin toss.Comment -

#10Saw this from article in another thread:
Only one team has chosen not to receive the opening kick, when the Arizona Cardinals chose to defer after winning the coin toss in 2008 at Super Bowl XLIII (43), better known as "the last time the Steelers were in the Super Bowl." Arizona, for what it's worth, lost the game.Comment -

#12I would defer if I were either team...getting the ball at HT is a huge bonus no matter the result in the 1st half...if you are down 10 at HT you still have something to hang your hat on...and if you're up 10...you feel amazing about your chances.Comment -

#15I'm seeing mixed answers. If neither team defers, since the juice is -104, this is a negative EV play, however if PITT has a history of ever defering, seems like it might be worth a shot. A much better prop than betting on the coin toss alone.Comment -

#16Lovie Smith has been taking flack all week for deferring the ball to Aaron Rodgers as hot as he was. Before they knew it they were in a 7-0 hole. I don't see Tomlin making a similar mistake. Both will receive imo.Comment -

#17Since this is still a pick 'em, there's obviously no sharp money going on this. It appears to be as much of a coin flip as the coin toss itself. I would stay away from this proposition.Comment -

#18Will the Packers defer? They did so in Philly and Atl. I think GB will defer if they win the toss.Comment -
