Dolphins sign Safety Crocker to 1-year deal
Free agent safety Chris Crocker agreed to a one-year contract with the Dolphins on Friday, according to his agent, and will join a crowded competition at the position.

''He's coming in to compete for the starting job,'' agent Tony Paige said. ``He's got a lot of experience.''

Crocker's deal is worth $1.150 million, with $300,000 guaranteed. Entering his sixth season in the league, Crocker started the past two years for the Falcons and had career highs last season in interceptions (three) and passes defended (11), along with 55 tackles.

Crocker, who attended Marshall University, played the first three years of his career with the Cleveland Browns, who drafted him in the third round in 2003. Crocker, 28, was shipped to Atlanta for a fourth-round pick before the 2006 season.
