Game of the Year on Monday
The defending Super Bowl champs, Saints, make their annual visit to the Georgia Dome where Atlanta has looked unbeatable at home not just this year but since Matty Ice has been taking the snaps in the QB position. I thought the game of the year might of been that Jets and Pats game a few Mondays back but that just turned into a Jets ass kicking.

The NFC South is still up for grabs if the Saints find a way to beat the Falcons at home. Saints haven't clinched their playoff spot yet and all they need is a win within the next 2 games or a Buccaneers loss in the next 2 weeks. As for the Falcons they have clinched their playoff spot last week with the Giants loss to the Eagles on the last play. I can guarantee everyone that you won't want to miss this Monday Night Football game coming up in a few more days.

With a Falcons win they would move to 13-2 and would clinch the NFC South and that all important home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Going to be a great heavy weight battle between these two offenses. Atlanta opened at -2 and they remain to sit at -2 at my book but I see -1.5 up to -3 at other offshore books. It looks like the action thus far is coming in on both side.

One thing i've learned from betting is you always bet in favour of the streak and not to bet against it. The Falcons are 10-4 ATS this year covering the last 6 in a row. Also, the Falcons have won 8 straight and 9 of the last 10. The total opened up at 47.5 and up to 48.5 at my book and I can see this one going over the total.

Anyways, enough typing but this game on Monday will be the game of the year so do not miss it. Whats everyone take on the ATS and total?

though NO has struggled in some spots this year as well, a few things to note:

NO needs this game more than ATL
first game between the 2 was VERY close, came down to a FG though atl was on the road, but still NO has the ability to play them close
ATL beat SF at home by ONLY 2
ATL beat CIN at home by 7
ATL beat TB, but it was a very close game, the pick that lead to the win was disputable as well
ATL beat BAL by 5, but again, with a last second offensive pass interference non call as white pushes his defender over to win the game
another close win by only 3 vs GB

so they have been winning at home, but by the SLIGHTEST of margins and all due to some last minute offensive/defensive play. NO has had its own share of struggles throughout the year but this is a game they really need to win to stay competitive for the wildcard spot. i am not saying ATL has been lucky to win these games, BUT they have been very fortunate to squeeze out these last minute victories... that and the ATL home winning streak under matt ryan has to end sometimes.

i am personally going to stay off this play, if it goes to +3 for NO, i just may be tempted to play it, i will tease NO a few times though as i dont see them losing by more than 1 TD

Line seems too low , right ?

need to consider both teams motivation at this point

Very interesting game, indeed. I actually think this game will go under. I'm going to wait until game time to take it though, b/c the money will most likely be on the over. I think the toughest pick is taking ATL at -3 or even -2x. I think the best play for this game is to tease the Saints, even if it's just to 8 or 9.

If I see the Saints drop to +3, I'll definitely throw a 7 pt teaser in. I like a number of games to tease it with: Steelers to -7, Cowboys to pick, Pats to pick, Jets to +8, and even over 41x in ATL/NO (I know, I said I like the under). In fact, I took a 5 game teaser with all 5 of these, and will split them up to have a couple 2 or 3 team teasers. I think Pittsburgh will crush tomorrow, like 34-10.

Atlanta wins in a route in a packed Georgia Dome and the defense sends Brees to the ER.

No they will roughen him up pretty good. Saints have no running game and they will blitz the heck out of him until he eats astroturf.

The Falcons do not need this game.

Im a hug Falcon Fan but it would not bother me one bit if the Saints beat us Monday night as long as we take care of business against the Panthers. I expect us to have a very VANILLA game plan for this game as we realize this is a team that we could find ourselves playing in the post season. If we go balls out and show all of our cards then we may be faced with the hard task of defeating a division rival for the 3rd time in one season. Saints will most likely travel to Rams or Seattle. Giants or Packers will most likely play Bears. If Saints beat us and beat Tampa in the last week and win thier first round playoff game against some shitty NFC West team, then they would have the best record of the wild card teams left and have to travel to Philly. ATL would get the winner of Chicago and whomever. Back to the beginning...why should ATL go balls out Monday night when they can still have home field and #1 seed with a win at home against the Panthers. Thoughts? Gonna be hard for me to bet the Saints but this is too easy.

Sometimes I wonder if you actually watch the NFL or do you just rely on the box scores?

Ivory has been very good...when healthy. Which sums up the Saints running game. Thomas, Bush get hurt Ivory steps in has a monster game and then gets hurt himself. Ivory gets healthy and has another monster game. The Saints didn't run much last Sunday, becuase they got down early and...oh yeah...the Ravens are pretty good against the run and their CB's...not so good against the pass.

Two Sundays ago the Falcons gave up over 200 yards rushing to the Panthers...200 yards against a one dimensional offense with Stewart and a 3rd string back running the ball.

Do you actually win money on the NFL???

Why would you bet against a QB who is a 18-1 at home in his career? Give me one reason.

And the Saints don't need this game. All Saints have to do to ensure they are in the playoffs is win last game at home vs Tampa. And one more thing. If Giants beat the Packers on Sunday the Saints are in the playoffs regardless of the Monday game vs the Falcons.

So the game might be meanigless for both teams on Monday. So you have a team with a QB who is 18-1 lifetime at home facing another team who might already be in the playoffs by game time. So lets just go all in and fade the 18-1 QB and put all our money on the indifferent team.

Saints will not want to show their cards either. Play atl and under. Both teams will not be all out offensively.

Aslong as we can take take of the Panthers the following week in the Georgia Dome then we'll lock up that NFC South and home field advantage throughout the post-season.

I suspect that keeping players healthy is priority #1 at this point. With that said, the Saints are completely capable of beating ATL straight up even if we are both going full force. Most Falcon/Saints game come down to the final posession anyway. Not that I think ATL will throw the game, just a lot of VANILLA calls, more Snelling than Turner, more Douglas and Jenkins than Roddy...maybe even try to get Gartrell Johnson some carries. If ATL doesnt come out 100% guns blazin for this game, then they will lose and this is what I suspect will happen given our current playoff scenerios. I would love for the Saints to knock of the Eagles and then come back to the GA Dome for the NFCCG. If Vick comes back to the GA Dome, I think you know what happens...not good!
