Chiefs with there backs to wall? Will play chargers at home
The Chargers lost their first game in December since 2005, falling 28-13 to the Raiders at Qualcomm Stadium, suffering a loss that severely handicaps their playoff hopes. Now 6-6, the Chargers must beat the 8-4 Chiefs to stay in the division hunt;a loss would leave them three games out of first with three games to play.Kansas City whipped the Chargers 21-7 to open the season,a win which heralded the Chiefs as a real contender in the AFC West.Another win would likely sew up a division title.
Like the Jets,I expect the Chargers to get back on the stallion and play some good football at home on Sunday.Kansas City can be very tough, but they can also give up the big play.I think Rivers will have a good game and they’ll play that aggressive defensive style that makes opposing quarterbacks beat them.Almost nobody has shut down the Chiefs’ rushing attack, but I think San Diego has a shot at really limiting Charles and Jones. But I have to bet on the Chargers here – just one bad game last week, their first loss in what seems to be 20 Decembers, doesn’t mean I’m forgetting about this teams’ late season dominance over the last few seasons. The Chargers haven’t been all that good offensively over the last couple games – thought they were just kind of running out their lead against Indy – they couldn’t get anything going (on ground or through the air) against the Raiders.Physically they just got handled, ala the Jets in New England in Week 13. Last week's loss to Oakland dealt a huge blow to San Diego's overall playoff chances, but what opportunity does remain can be augmented by a big effort on Sunday. And in spite of the 6-6 record, it's hard to pick against a team that -- at least perception-wise -- still seems to be among the league's best.Score one for the last stand on the home field... Take Chargers and Give Up 9 Points "My Prediction'' Chargers 28 Chiefs 7

I like the Chargers here. They gotta get it done, they're at home, and Cassel is out for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs have moved QB Matt Cassel from “doubtful” to “out” for Sunday’s game.Cassel did not make the trip to San Diego with the team
