Jerry Jones made a promise to Garrett a couple years ago that he was the head coach in waiting behind Phillips.

Jones has the highest player payroll this season in the NFL and it was evident most all of them have quit on him mid season via a 1 - 7 start. After watching that pathetic effort by his players on National tv last night, Jones realized an opportunity had now presented itself. While he would like to shitcan the entire coaching staff immediately, that is just not practical mid season so now he can fire Phillips mid season with just cause, keep his word to Garrett making him interim head coach to finish out the season and then shitcan all of them at seasons end and start over.

So that's where the Cowboys are at today. Keep fading them because the players liked Phillips and won't be motivated to play better under Garrett. If anything, they will be even more disgruntled. Most of the players dislike Garrett and it will show up on game day the rest of the season.

nah man. been using that phrase over 40 years. learned it from my pops and grandpops. growing up, if your stuff was left out, the common threat phrase in the household was for it to be shitcanned if it was left out again. kinda stuck with me over the years. loved throwing that down on my kiddos when they were growing up.
