Whoa. I was hoping to see this line move to +10. I've watched all of the Cards games so far, and the offense is terrible. They did beat the Saints at home, but that was one of the stranger turnover fests. It could happen again Sunday, if the defense steps up, but the Cards passing and running game is in the gutter.

Multiple sources tell the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that Percy Harvin and Vikings coach Brad Childress had a "heated" argument about the injured receiver's effort in Friday's practice.
As if we needed more confirmation that Chilly's lost the locker room. The Star-Trib has few other details, but Harvin played through a serious ankle injury last week and accounted for 135 all-purpose yards against the Patriots. Harvin is also known to be "furious" with Childress for waiving his close friend Randy Moss earlier in the week. Owner Zygi Wilf should've fired the coach when such a good opportunity presented itself on Tuesday. Worth noting: Beat writer Tom Pelissero suggested on Twitter Friday that Childress' firing wouldn't be a surprise if the Vikings lost Sunday's game against Arizona.

I was thinking the same thing. I know both the NFL and college Minnesota football sucks this year. (Minnesota college football being even worse than the Vikes, hard to believe but true). My only thinking on why the Vikes are favored by 8 points would be because in college football Arizona was losing, so maybe the NFL Arizona team is just following suit with their college team. I can't fight this one. Vikings by 8.

It's hard to make a case for the Cards, while they have some decent overall talent and I rate their coach, a lack of a decent QB will sink ANY team.

However, I think somehow people are picturing the 2009 Vikings.

* MN Defense is top half of the league in scoring def, but 23rd in 3rd down conversion pct, and tied for DEAD LAST in sacks with 6.
* QB is a year older, another missed training camp, and banged up to boot.
* Moss gone, Harvin had a bust up with Chilly this week. Rice ain't gonna be full speed for awhile yet unless he's from Krypton, who's going to catch the ball.
* Distractions Distractions Distractions this week another week of the media camped outside of Vikings HQ and the owner quizzing the players on their relationship with childress.

I think with the receiver and favre situation as it is, the Vikings are going to go run run heavy with short pass/check down game plan. This will work ok as long as they are ahead or close in the game.

The lack of pressure by the D-Line (Pat Williams is 38 now) -- sometimes even a crap QB can look good when he has all day to pass, and Arizona has some decent receivers if they can get the ball.

If Arizona can get out in front early and force the Vikings to go heavier to the pass, look for some INT's from Favre, more hits on the old man, and possibly a straight up ARI victory. The right side of the Vikings O-line has been a sieve this year.

If Arizona can't stop the run, however, this will play to MINN strengths and they'll win and probably cover.

I've going small on Arizona +8, more to do with the Viking's disarray.
