Lions win by ATLEAST 7... lol just because a really good team like packers shut out the jets doesn't mean they are a bad team all of a sudden, you cant take only one week into account.... the jets are a really good team overall and so are the lions, but they are not good enough to beat the jets by more than seven points, i do think that lions will hang in there with the jets, but I am not sure if anything i would go with the +4 and not the ML.

I am not saying the jets will win no doubt, there is no such thing as a sure pick in the nfl especially this season. I wouldn't be surprised if the lions do pull an upset, but the chances are very slim, especially after the jets get a whooping like they did last week, they want to come out strong. If the line does get better in the lions favor i will jump on spread

Don't teams want to "come out strong" regardless of the previous week? I don't get why people use this mentality when they evaluate games.

Do you have anything else to defend the Jets? Even if Roch is a wannabe-tout, his pick on DET isn't as big an "upset" as ppl think. I've said this in other threads, but they matchup ok vs the Jets and throw in home field advantage..

Would I put 40 units on it? Not a chance in hell, but it's worth a standard bet for sure.

Teams do want to come out strong every week, but having played organised sports all through high school i remember how hard we worked our butts off after a bad loss and how we wanted to come out strongER the next week and play really good. And if i have anything else to defend the jets? unlike redskins, the jets can actually run the ball and have good wrs, and the lions arent all that great agaisnt the run.

This isn't high school. These are millionaire athletes doing a job.

As far as the Jets go. How are they in red zone offense/defense and third down offense/defense? Are they a disciplined team? But of course as long as they have an advantage running they'll win right? They had the same edge last week and they couldn't even score a field goal. Let's not forget about Sanchez either. He hasn't looked great this year and he'll be facing formidable defensive line. Those who think DET have a "slim" chance of winning just aren't paying attention this season.

Well he doesn't need to, because the jets Defense wins games, as long as he doesn't turn the ball over the jets are in good shape to win any game. Well what i meant when i saying det having a slim chance beating the jets was because he said they will win by atleast 7 points, thats what i meant. The pride factor may be an overrated element, but it still does play atleast some part in every single game, its one of the reasons division rivalries are always so great in my opinion.... lol 40 units is an awful lot to drop on one game, hopefully his units are worth $1 only.

Last time I read one of his threads he was betting points so keep that in mind.

Also, what about pride for DET? Don't they want to prove they are an improved team and wouldn't beating the Jets do a lot for their pride? I know what you are saying but you can apply that to almost any team/player in any situation and we'd just wind up arguing who has more pride on the line? I think they are more worried about how to stop LT/Greene, how to keep CJ away from Revis, or how to block Suh.

Don't forget the jets are playing in a brand new stadium. I'm from nyc and my buddy went to the game. Said this new place is a complete wind tunnel. I mean, when was last time Rodgers couldn't manufacture a touchdown drive? Sanchez bounces back big. I'm going to do a big play on Jets tt.
