KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
In early season no one would predict that Kansas City Chiefs were the leaders of the AFC West, what is certain is that this is what is happening. A team full of good, young players are doing an amazing season. First noted that they have good special teams with Javier Arenas and Dexter McCluster, frantic players capable of upsetting the special teams defense of any opponent. Then we have an attack on Matt Cassel inspired each time with a better and broader vision of the game, something that had not happened in his former team, the New England Patriots, where he was confined to discover the short routes. Evolved and is made of good quarterbacks in the league, and also for the additional receivers of excellent quality. Dwayne Bowe is a monster, huge and fast, being the main weapon that Cassel is available. The rookie tight end, coming from the University of Iowa, Tony Moeaki has shown itself as an excellent prospect and one of the most sought-team receivers. As for the running game, there is a double success in Kansas City. The veteran Thomas Jones is partnered with the irreverent Jamaal Charles, who until now has been one of the best halfbacks of the season with an impressive record 6.3 yards per carry. It lacks the touchdowns that so far only managed one. The defense has been good, especially the run defense, leaving no provision for opponents to reach 100 yards rushing. Already a pass defense has been so good.
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
The Jaguars were not even make a bad time until I see them on Monday Night Football at home against the division rival Tennessee Titans. It was a mediocre game at all that could be. David Garrard is injured just right but even when Garrard was in the display field was fair. Neither the running game was working, nor the passing game, nothing. Even when they were doing a good drive, going on a fumble or an interception. Even the main character of the team this season Marcedes Lewis made a fumble, something not very normal. Speaking of Marcedes Lewis, as for me, so improved at all levels who became one of my top five tight ends in the NFL. Both the level of blocking as the level of receiving, is a very complete player and then in the Redzone is a brutal weapon for the Jacksonville quarterbacks. Things however are not famous for moving to Kansas City since David Garrard will not play due to a concussion. To make matters worse, the backup Trent Edwards, Buffalo Bills brought from the middle of the season, also will not play due to injury on a finger of right hand. With all these absences in one of the main positions of the game, the holder will be backing up the backup, or Todd Bouman. Bouman is 38 years old and was brought in haste to be the team to directly hold a stake out. It is difficult, and when the defense tabém is not at its best, things get complicated.
The defense of the Chiefs is beginning to dominate, although they have lost their last two games already in the final minutes of the same. Peyton Manning could not even a single touchdown at home against this defensive play when concentrated, is very effective. I think against Todd Bouman, who as I said, was brought in haste for the Jags, the Chiefs defense must face the weakest of the quarterbacks so far. The pass defense of the Chiefs may not be the best but expect some mastery of this unit especially if the run defense act at the level that has acted. If Maurice Jones-Drew is not having a good game, the Jags will be forced to shoot the ball, which turns out to be not good for them. If the Jags were already the 25th team in the league in total offense, now the trend is obviously to get worse. Instead, the Chiefs run defense is the fifth best in the league so that all possible scenarios for attack by the Jags do not seem very encouraging. The Chiefs have their best players available and will looking to further cement the leadership of the AFC West.
