49ers, Patriots, Vikings, Cowboys and Steelers
I'm new to the forum but I have read many posts and after finding this site useful I decided it's time to become a part of it. These are my plays for the weekend and my reason, was hoping to get some feedback on them. Last weekend had the Rams, Vikes and Titans. Ive been going with my instinct rather then looking for "sharp" plays all the time. Lately Ive realized that sometimes the better team really is the side and there is no reason to over think it (ex. Oregon, Titans).

    49ers -3

This team has killed me this year but last weekend they won and I think that is just what this team needed, confidence. I've been over analyzing a lot of road favorites but lately it seems like the better team has been the side. Just like Tenn on Monday night. Carolina isn't a good football team. Alex Smith looks great then he looks bad, he's been inconsistent but I'm going with a team who I think will improve from here out. This pick is my smallest play but 49ers are the better team who finally gained confidence and that's who I'm rolling with.

    Patriots +3

This team isn't as dominate as they used to be, but they are a good football team. Defense is getting better every week and the offense is still good as always, even with out Moss. Everyone wants to keep thinking SD is a good team. They aren't. Back to back losses to Oakland and Stl and their only 2 wins have come against Jax and Arizona. Patriots after beating the Ravens control this game and win with ease.

    Vikings +3

After starting the season 1-3 the vikings beat a good Dallas team last weekend. Dallas came after Farve all game and the Vikings managed to pull out a tough win at home. The offense looked much better 2nd half against Jets and Cowboys. They are starting to click and I look for them to show up this Sunday night in GB. GB isn't as good as people think, they are also hurt. Rogers in a one man team. Vikings coming off a needed win will see this as an opportunity to make a statement in a divisional game. Vikings roll.

    Cowboys-3

Every week I tell myself "cowboys must win" and every week they seem to beat themselves. I'm saying it again "they must win" but this time I'm taking them. An underachieving team with a lot of talent. Their season is on the line. Giants have looked better last few games but last week they let Detroit hang around for a while. If you watched Dallas play at all you know they have a good D, amazing pass rush. The problem is they beat themselves. I think Jerry will put pressure on Wade to get it done in big D and he will have this team focused. They will make it a long day for Eli.

    Considering:

    Steelers -3

Dolphins are a nice team but I'm rolling with Pitt after Ben has a game under his belt. Dolphins lost to Pats and Jets at home so they are going to have to prove me wrong but I don't see them beating the Steelers. I think they compete but in the end Pitt is just a better team. Pitts defense is the biggest difference

9ers looking like a trap game..panthers have had two weeks to prepare..sure, the 9ers won last week, but the score was a little misleading, they couldn't do much against that raiders D...panthers decided to name Moore the starter, which should be the right choice because they had two weeks to think about it and I happen to trust their coach.

Patriots really is the best sucker bet of the week. Chargers is my best bet. Flacco had a good game against the patriots and Rivers should do just as good or even better. The chargers are a different team at home and they will win this game and cover. Books want the action to be on the patriots at +3. You say the Chargers haven't been any good, yet they are in the top 5 in both offense and Defense?? This is about the time of year when they start their big win streak to win the division.

No opinion ont the sunday night or monday night games, leans on packers and cowboys. and i also lean dolphins.

The Bolts are in the top 5 in offense and defense, yet they're a losing team. And even though they've not lost at home, those wins came against Arizona and Jacksonville. Two teams that are nowhere near as good as New England. Add to the fact that Malcolm Floyd's out and Antonio Gates and Legedu Naanee are both doubtful, this San Diego team will definitely be different at home this weekend.

I like NE with the points, as well.

Definitely, Patriots over Chargers. Chargers have too many missing key players and lost to poor teams.

I don't like the 49ers play. Panthers out of a bye, @home with the points.

Gates will play...the bills of all teams put up 30 points on that poor patriots D when they were on the road...patriots are coming off a big win, its a letdown game for them while the chargers need to win...forecast isn't looking great in San Diego, who do you trust more in the run game? ...

I would be careful with the Carolina game. Panthers have two weeks to prepare and the 49ers are traveling cross country and playing the early game. Smith actually hasn't won a game as starter playing in Eastern Time Zone. Also Carolina gets Moore back at starter which should be an upgrade over Clausen and Steve Smith will be back this week.

are we all forgetting here that the chargers extremely talented offensively IF the chargers special teams can limit mistakes and not allow the one of two big plays that cost them the game they have a very good chance of winning.

IDK if you've been betting football the last few years, but how often has the Belichick-run Patriots had a letdown game? He is the best coach in the NFL for a reason.... his players are 100% focused on the game at hand, every single week.

And the Patriots have more rush YPG, a better YPC, and ZERO fumbles, to the Chargers FIVE.

The Bills really only put up 23 on the defense (kickoff return for TD), and that was by far the worst game that D has played. They have looked pretty decent since. Plus, no Floyd, no Naanee, and a banged up Gates and Matthews means next to no offense for the Chargers

The Bills really only put up 23 on the defense (kickoff return for TD), and that was by far the worst game that D has played. They have looked pretty decent since. Plus, no Floyd, no Naanee, and a banged up Gates and Matthews means next to no offense for the Chargers
If those Patriots u talk about have been 100% focused all the time, why do they have a bad record on the road recently??? ... next to no offense for the chargers? lol .. best of luck buddy..i think ur in for a surprise come sunday, hope you don't lay too much on this game...

                                                Nice write up.

Chargers were predicted to win 11 games and win their division. They have lost some easy games and do not seem as dominant as they should be at this time of the season.

P.S. I like your Vikings pick. Vikings won both games against the Packers last year.

The Chargers are going to be missing their top 3 WRs, their HOF TE is banged up and could very easily re-injure his foot, and their only effective RB is banged up to. They will be starting Patrick Crayton and BUSTER DAVIS at WR. If you don't think they have injury issues here, and that the offense WILL struggle, then there's no helping you. I'm not saying they will get completely shut out, but missing your best 3 WRs is obviously going to hurt.

And the Pats have the 3rd best road record since Belichick took over (52-30). Last west coast road trip, in 2008, they went 3-1, with a loss to the Chargers. With a team as young as the Pats, its obviously going to take more time to gel, but Belichick has proven that he knows how to keep teams focused and winning on the road.

I see no reason why the Chargers will win this game, with the team they will be putting on the field. If you asked me in the preseason, sure, I think the Chargers would've won this game and I actually had them picked as Super Bowl contenders. But this is not the same team.

And the Patriots have more rush YPG, a better YPC, and ZERO fumbles, to the Chargers FIVE.

Yeah I agree the Pats always seem to be prepared. I think this is one of those games that will have a lot of people over thinking but sometimes there is no secret and the better team does what they are supposed to do. GL

I'm definitely teasing the Pats, maybe stick them in some ML parlays. Pats just seem like a hot team to ride right now.

After watching an impressive Miami win last week, I wasn't impressed. Again, Steelers are a hot team to ride right now.

I'm liking Vikings over the wounded Pack on SNF as well as the 49ers over Carolina, who has some deep problems.

As for the Cowboys game, I'm probably going with the Giants. Since it's still a day away, I haven't quite given it a full analysis.
