Number 1 rule when betting teasers. NEVER CROSS ZERO.

He's going against the grain and doing well, but I do not advise this type of wagering.

If you tease a game and it crosses the 0 then it immediately loses value. PIT is -3 so teasing them to +7 "crosses" the 0. Many people have a golden rule to never do that and give up value so they would rather play MIA +13 instead. The best teasers are always two team 6 point ones that cross critical numbers 3 and 7. -7.5 to -8.5 down to -1.5 to .2.5 or vice versa with +1.5 to +2.5 up to +7.5 or +8.5. However, if done selectively crossing 0 is fine too.

Someone mentioned last week that I'm far better off to just play all 3 straight up for more profit, but if you look back on my 10 point teasers that isn't the case. Many of the teasers cashed, but they didn't cover the standard spread. For this reason I rarely play a double digit spread, but they are great for teasers.

I'm not so sure about that Saints bet.
Cardinals and Panthers are awful teams that have covered the spread against the Saints.
The Browns are awful as well, but the Saints offense is not aggressive enough like last season.

If you get a PUSH on any single game, doesn't your whole teaser lose? If so, I think this is terrible.

No. A push on one would make it a two team teaser with recalculated odds. If two push it results in no action.

This is the second thread I've seen mentioning teasing NO BAL and NE. I may work out some kind of pleaser on NE, because I think this one's not even close.

Anyway, perhaps less value is lost crossing the zero with ten+ pointers, but the math and value stuff doesn't matter when you pick at this kind or rate, lol. BOL continuing this run, I like your picks this week.

everything in this thread aside, that game was the exact opposite of a bad beat in the history of the nfl. san fran never got off the plane to participate in that game.

I agree that MIA will be tougher than people think (80% of public on PIT -3 right now), but with that PIT defense I can't see them losing by more than a TD. Big Ben only needs to be average to dramatically improve that passing offense. I expect PIT to win, but if they don't it will be close.

Agreed. In hindsight SF was a horrible play vs KC. Coming off a tough loss to NO on a short week traveling to a very tough place to play. Was a bad pick all around, but like many others I still thought SF would bounce back from the black hole they were in. OOPS!

NO and BAL are good for a 6.5/7 point teaser, but not with PIT. I would add NYG +10.5 instead of PIT.

This is an example of a normal teaser. Notice that no zeroes were crossed. This was a nice winner from last sunday. Not saying that crossing the zero wont work, but I like to stay close to the book without risking too much

Thanx. Was actually my first teaser I ever tried. JJ told me NFL teasers were ok, so I looked into the right way to do it. I got lucky and hit.
