Dallas @ Minny Playoff Elimination Game

By all accounts, the game should end in a tie. I'll pose the same question as last week that helped me pick the winner of the Cowboys/Titans game; who is more likely to hand the game away? Romo or Favre? This isn't as easy at it looks. I can see Favre handing this game away just as easy as Romo this week.

All signs point to avoiding this game like the plague....

I think the Vikings can survive yet another loss, unbelievably, with the Packers looking weak and the Bears are the Bears.

The Cowboys can't afford this loss. The Giants are suddenly looking incredible and the Redskins & Eagles may hang around.

Dallas might already be too far back in the NFC East, Minnesota can still bounce back with Green Bay slipping, especially since they didn't blow their home game vs. the Lions. The real question is going to be: will the NFC West Champ finish with a losing record?

I totally agree. I actually think the 49ers will still take the NFC West. The rest of their schedule is a cakewalk after a brutal first 5 weeks. Maybe the Cards can make a little run with their rookie QB, but the Rams are going nowhere and the Seahawks can't win away from home.

The play, imo is to take Minny and St. Louis and tease Dallas and SD.

Look for Dallas to have a lot of 2 TE sets in this game, as the vikings blew up their offensive line in the playoffs last year. This will keep 3 and 4 WR sets off the field and will also lead to Romo taking short drops and getting the ball out of his hand quickly. All of these factors will limit the Cowboys offense. The Cowboys D pretty much has a "bend, don't break" mentality which will probably be exploited by the running of Peterson and the pass catching ability of Moss, who always seems to burn the 'Boys when he plays them. I'm a Cowboys fan, but if I was betting on this game, I would take the Vikes...

Dallas is the play. Favre has nothing left in the tank. He is already setting up his elbow excuse to sit out the rest of the season once they are officially out of it.

dallas is top 3 in yards per play ypg 1st downs pass yards total offense and top 10 total defense. most penalized team in the league and if they fix that they should be a top 5 team again... But not gonna happen with coach cupcake still leading this team

thats the problem right there. He has no authority to run the team. Jerry runs the team and as long as he continues to do this, they will not win another championship nor will they attract another quality head coach (Cowher / Gruden / Dungy etc) When it's Jerry's way or the highway mentality, the Cowboys will continue floundering in mediocrity. He and his ego is his own worst enemy. Junior and Stevie need to force daddy into retirement and get a real GM / Coach in there to run things.

I think both QB's will be running for their lives in this one. With all the drive killing penalties Dallas gets on offense, they will struggle to score TD's and getting a FG out of their kicker is no given either.

I really don't think Dallas is as bad as their record and I think they will turn it around this season. Minnesota on the other hand will only get worse IMO until Favre is out of there.

The only way to play this one is to tease Dallas +7 1/2. I hate Favre's elbow, but Minny has the matchups otherwise.

That would be the smart thing to do. Jason Garrett, the Princeton grad, is not that smart. If Dallas did that, I believe that would not limit their offense, but only make it better.

Jason Garrett just recycles the same game plan every week.

Look for Marion Barber to get the first carry of the game and Felix to get every game after that, because we care too much about MB3 feelings.

Look for the offensive line to be stupid and commit stupid penalties (again) and get beat on the edges, especially the right side, (again).

This nearly exact roster was man handeled by Minnesota just 5 games ago. The O-Line was creamed and it's only gotten worse.

I am too a Dallas fan and there is no way in hell that Dallas pulls this off. I dont trust the O-line on the road. I don't trust Dallas' ability to guard Moss. I don't trust Scandrick's ability to slow down Percy in the slot.

Minny wins.
