The Kansas City Chiefs and Matt Cassell
Although the Chiefs went into this week undefeated nobody thought that the team was one of the top competitors in the league, and most people thought that the Colts were going to destroy them. However, the Chiefs went into Indy and played a tough game against a dangerous Cots team. Besides a few mistakes the Chiefs could have won the game and fought till the end. Are the Chiefs the real deal? And can Matt Cassell lead this team into the playoffs?

The Chiefs looked good, good on D, good on special teams... well coached and that rookie TE looked good too.

However I was NOT impressed with Matt Cassell at all. I know there was a stretch where he threw 3 incompletions all off the WR's hands, dropped balls on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down but I don't think Cassell is there yet.

Being a Colts better I was never fearful when the Chiefs had the ball and I don't think too highly of the Colts D... what does that tell you?

It's not just Cassel, it's his receivers in Chambers and Bowe. Both of them are horrible and slow, and with Cassel not being able to stretch the field because of his arm strength the ability of the Chiefs to score touchdowns is limited. Their bright spots are their running game with Charles, Jones, and McCluster, and Tony Moeaki at TE. But Defensive Coordinator's will key on those areas as the season goes along, and scoring will get even tougher.

Thank Romeo Crennel and what he's done with the Defense, as he added a couple of rookies and has really improved their overall performance 5 fold. They also will meet another team in a bad spot this weekend as they play Houston coming off a loss. Houston's defense is better than Indy's, so 3-2 isn't out of the question, and more than likely.

him playing in college means zero. he was 11-5 with the patriots so if has the right team he can win, he did it. he has the right people as coaches and the front office is very smart. they will be in every game they play this year. i want to see them do well and i am no a chiefs fan.

Looked to me as if Manning was not 100% health wise or he is just losing interest? How old is he?

Everyone needs a "spark" to stay motivated. I honestly don't know how these Pro's would survive in the real world working 40 hour weeks on a 2-10 or 9-5 job?

Answer for yourself, what is it that gets you motivated each day; a paycheck is the answer for most!

Goverment knows! This is why they give out raises (your tax money) paid holidays (again your money) and lastly who is it that hasn't won the Super Bowl? That has to be #1 on all players list.

I'm going to look @ Washington/Indy this week, 1st thought is; who is more motivated, McNabb or Manning?

Indy RB in street clothes yesterday?

            Uhm............

I'm a Pats and a Cowboys fan, but one of the first NFL games I ever watched was Super Bowl IV in '70 when KC beat Minn so KC has always been my number 3 team.
Obviously there is a connection there with Cassel coming from New England.
He is a good QB with the right team around him as he showed in '08. KC is young and going in the right direction. I wouldn't call them a contender this year but, maybe soon.
I really liked the onside kick attempt to open the game yesterday at Indy, to bad the ball didn't travel 10 yds. Gutsy though.

The Chiefs were never close to winning the game, they never even had a lead. They scored no TD's and even got a gift 3 pts at the end of the first half. Jacksonville also limited Indy's attack the previous week, we gonna crown them too?

Cassell will probably throw for 400 yards against the Texans next Sunday.

Chiefs look like a decent team. In the NFL...every team is pretty close to being "good". I think if KC can land themselves a true #1 reciever, a couple more pieces on the o-line and d-line, and stick to their current formula..I think they have a bright future.

Cassell...I'm not 100% sold on him. But he did go 11-5 with a good Patriots team, so he can obviously be a winner. But I do not think he is a QB that can carry a team. He is no Brady, Manning, Rivers etc. But like I mentioned in the above sentence..he can be a winner.

Either way..Chiefs are moving in the right direction for sure
